“The grand square is always bustling with activity, who could have thought there could be more?” Calida mused as she ran her fingers over a piece of lace. With Eddard’s betrothal announced the night before, and her own wedding looming on the horizon, it would seem that there was a need for plenty of new dresses. “I couldn’t imagine a celebration as grand as this for me.” She mused to the person next to her, before offering a sheepish grin. “Though I suppose I’ll never be quite as grand as Queen Constanza.”
♛ 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐓 — CALIDA CELTIGAR the LADY of AMARANTH. tales of this TWENTY-THREE year old CIS WOMAN tell of their PRINCIPLED & CAPTIVATING nature, but beware, for they are also FINICKY & DISOBEDIENT. the gossips whisper they use SHE/HER pronouns and look strangely like SARAH BOLGER. but i’ve also heard they bring images of A SMILE AS BRIGHT AS THE SUN, GENTLE AND WELCOMING TO THOSE AROUND HER; A SPIRIT TOO BIG TO BE CAGED IN GREAT WALLS OF THE CASTLE; AND A HUM OF SOFT MUSIC, PAIRED WITH THE SCENT OF A MORNING RIDE to mind. how will their story unfold?
- one of the two youngest ladies of house celtigar, calida grew up close to her family, entirely devoted to them. she’d do anything to help them should they need it, and values her father’s opinions above most else.
- around age 13, calida was betrothed to lord domeric kilcairn of belhaven. she would one day become his wife and lady, securing a strong alliance for her own family in the process. through spending time in belhaven she became close with lady briar, and considers her a close friend to this day.
- always full of grace and charm, calida makes friends easily with those around her. she never struggled in her life until she grew a bit older, when she began to be met with quizzical looks when returning from morning rides with her hair a mess, and started hearing the hushed whispers when she came back from trips to the village. slowly, it became clear - she was no longer acting like a lady should.
- ever determined to do right by her family, calida began spending more time attending to duties that those around her saw fit - practicing music and other arts, and spending more time with other nobles than on her own adventures outside. still, she finds time for herself, a moment alone to ride, where no one can tell her otherwise.
- recently, calida has been accompanying her father on his many trips to the capital. though she loves her home of amaranth, aros is exciting, and though there are more people, it feels as if she isn’t as closely watched. she has time to laugh with her sister, and go on her treasured rides.
- still, there seems to be an ever present question nagging in the back of her mind - is this what she’s supposed to do? with more questions tugging at her heart, and with more confusions between duty and desire, lady calida is growing more muddled by the day. though, she’d never breathe a word of that to anyone. instead, she smiles graciously, hiding an inner battle.
