Si algo callé es porque entendí todo, menos la distancia.

The Escapade (Callé’s Side)
RP story written with @kaidin-ryscandor-ace-pilot
Callé pulled her hood tighter around her. She had been sent by Padmé to go and find food for her and the other handmaidens. Well, really she had volunteered. She needed to get out of that stuffy Senate building. She had seen enough of it in the previous weeks since the battle on Naboo, so when Padmé asked if someone would get lunch, Callé was more than willing to go and stretch her legs. It would also give her time away from Padmé. It wasn’t that she didn’t love her best friend, because she did. However, ever since the incident with Obi-Wan on Naboo, her friend had been... smothering. Callé knew that her friend cared about her, but she just needed time.
At the Beginning
Callé sighed as she looked out the window at the Coruscant landscape. Padmé was in the other room with Anakin and she was acting as a decoy in case anyone came to visit unannounced. Becoming a decoy wasn’t something she did much these days since Padmé had become a Senator, but every once in a while she’d step in to let the Senator step out.
She tapped her hand against the windowsill as she looked down at where they parked the Senator’s vehicles and couldn’t help but smile as she saw him... Obi-Wan.
It had been years since she first met the Jedi, but her heart still skipped a beat. As if feeling her eyes on him, he looked up at her, waving at her with a small smile. She returned the gesture. She didn’t even have to wonder if he knew that it wasn’t Padmé, even at this distance. He had always had an uncanny ability to tell the handmaidens apart. She sighed despite herself, feeling the familiar ache in her chest. She knew she could never act on her feelings. Not like Padmé. Not that she judged her friend for her secret relationship with Ani, but Callé knew that she could never put Obi-Wan in that position. Not while the Jedi were so important to the galaxy. She could never get in his way. Not since she saw the good that he could do... Not since...
Callé had thought Padmé was crazy to just follow two men she had just met into a ship, Jedi or not. Sure, technically it was Sabé who gave the order since Sabé was playing queen that day, but Callé still didn’t like it. The handmaidens had all been trained in combat. Hell, Callé even knew how to fly. She could’ve gotten them to Coruscant without the need for the Jedi, or their stop on Tatooine. If she had been flying, they wouldn’t have been hit. Jedi weren’t meant for space battles.
Now they were stuck on some sand speck of a planet in hopes of trying to get the parts they needed to continue on their journey. Callé watched as Padmé left with the Jedi Master and the Gungan hoping that by the time they made it to the Senate it wouldn’t be too late. She sighed as she sat down on the ramp, watching their retreating forms and the shadows they cast under the twin suns.
“You sound like the weight of the world is upon your shoulders,” a voice said.
“Yes, well, my people are threatened and we’re stuck on a desert planet because a pair of Jedi don’t know how to make a clean getaway,” she shot back.
“Well, we do still have feelings,” the man teased as he sat down next to her. He offered her his hand. “Obi-Wan Kenobi, at your service... or disservice as you seem to think.”
“Callé,” She responded, giving her his hand. He placed a kiss on the back of her hand and her heart skipped a beat. She pulled her hand away and rolled her eyes. “My friends call me Cal.”
She turned to look at him fully. He didn’t seem much older than her. Padmé was fourteen, but Callé was older by four years. The fact that she was short made her look younger. She took in his lop-sided smile as he looked at her. She wanted to pull her hood over her face and hide, but that wasn’t who she was. Instead, she reached out to roll his silly little braid between her fingers. “Do all Jedi have these things?” Callé asked with a raised brow as she rolled it back and forth between her thumb and forefinger.
“Only the Padawan learners,” Obi-Wan explained, reaching up to take her hand. “Does your queen always use a decoy so she can go exploring?”
Callé gave him a sideways glance, “You caught onto that?”
“She seems like the type of queen to always do what she wants and doesn’t like to sit put when she could be out doing something. A lot like you, I’d presume,” he smirked.
She nodded at him, “I’m impressed, You’re more perceptive than I thought.”
“What, did you think all we Jedi do was wave our lightsabers around and look intimidating?” Obi-Wan laughed.
“Well, if it looks like a Gungan and talks like a Gungan,” Callé shrugged, but she couldn’t help the smile that came over her face. It was the first of many conversations they would have while her Queen was away. It made the minutes pass by quickly until it was time to leave the planet entirely. Callé watched the Jedi Padawan switch back into business-mode the second the ship left the atmosphere. It was almost as if a door that she was beginning to peek through had been shut in her face, but it was probably for the best. After all, she had her duty to Padmé and he had his duty to the Order. Eventually they made it back to the Senate and then back to Naboo to fix the problems themselves. After a giant celebration, she was standing behind Padmé with the rest of her handmaidens, watching the Jedi get ready to leave.
“My lady, do you mind if I head back inside?” Callé asked Padmé.
“Cal, I thought you’d want to say goodbye to our Jedi protectors,” Her best friend teased, knowing how she felt about the Jedi Padawan.
“If I’m to lose something that I never had, I’d want to do so on my own terms,” Callé replied.
Padmé gave her a sad smile and nodded, “We’ll be in the throne room shortly.”
Callé turned to leave and walked back into the building as the Jedi came over to the Queen to say goodbye.
Obi-Wan came to rest in front of the queen to scan the eyes of the other handmaidens. He turned to Padmé and asked quietly, “Where is Cal?”
Padmé gently nodded back towards the hall behind her, giving the Jedi a wink.
“Thank you, your Majesty,” Obi-Wan smiled, a slight blush forming on his face.
“Anakin, stay with the queen for a moment,” Obi-Wan had told the young boy in his charge before running through the hall to catch up with the retreating figure up ahead.
Callé heard footfalls speeding up behind her and turned to see him getting closer. As he came to rest in front of her, he gently took her hands and led her into an alcove between two pillars for some privacy.
“Shouldn’t you be leaving?” Cal asked, looking everywhere but at him.
“Cal, I couldn’t leave without saying goodbye to you,” Obi-Wan replied, gently tipping her chin up to look at him. “I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel anything for you.”
“We both have our duties,” Cal replied sadly as Obi-Wan gently cupped her cheek.
“Cal, I-” She cut him off with a kiss before pulling back.
“Don’t,” she whispered.
“In another life,” he replied he told her, pulling her into his chest.
“In another life,” she sighed, grasping hold of this moment before it ended, grasping hold of him before she knew she’d have to let him go.
“See me off?” He asked as he offered her his hand.
She nodded, taking it and walking back with him toward her friends. She let go of his hand, going to stand next to her best friend as he collected the boy and they entered their ship. Callé managed to hold herself together long enough, not breaking apart in Padmé’s arms until after the ship was nothing more than a mere dot in the cloudless sky.
Callé still felt that same pain, more than a decade later as she looked down at him. She’d always interacted with him with nothing but platonic friendship since, doing her best to hide her true feelings. Certainly he had gotten over her by now, anyway.
Padmé emerged from her quarters to see Callé staring out the window. She followed her friend’s gaze and slung an arm around her shoulder.
“Nothing’s impossible, Cal,” Padmé told her.
“This much is,” Callé replied, turning to her friend. She gently reached out and adjusted Padmé’s headdress to make her look more presentable. Then, she called back towards the other room, “Ani, your Master is here.”
“I guess that’s my cue,” the Jedi replied as he swaggered out of the room. He gently kissed his wife on the cheek before winking at Cal. “I’ll see you ladies again soon.”
Padmé rolled her eyes, chuckling at her husband’s antics. “Goodbye, Ani.”
A trip to Mandalore (Part Two)
Warnings: Smut under the cut.
Cal opened the door to her room before walking over to the window seat. She sat on it, hugging her legs to her chest as she let the breeze push the hair off her face.
Without asking, and not that he needed to, Wheatley casually walked into her room. “You know, you look really pretty by the window.”
Cal turned her head to look over at him. “You’re just obligated to tell me I look pretty because i gave you the best kiss of your life,” she smirked at him before patting the spot next to her. “This window is big enough for the two of us.”
“Hey, I’d never lie to you.” He sat down beside her. “Only kiss of my life. Glad it was with you, though. But, man I never thought I’d be so touch starved.”
She leaned into him. “Well, if you ever want to do it again, you know where to find my lips,” she chuckled as she looked out over the world of Mandalore.
“Is that an invitation?” Wheatley asked, putting on his charm. He placed an arm around her as they looked out the window.
“If you want it to be,” she flirted back as she leaned her head on his shoulder.
“Obi doesn’t know what he’s missing out on. I get to see the most beautiful sight in the world.” Ha... got her. The blush proved he had embarrassed her.
She quickly swooped in and kissed his cheek to try and fluster him. “I’m just a handmaiden. She’s a Duchess,” Cal sighed. That was essentially being nothing in comparison.
He was mildly flustered, but place his hand under her chin to tilt her head up to him. “Well, you’re a Princess. Outranks a Duchess.”
Cal caught herself staring at his lips before snapping back up to his eyes. “And what are you?” she whispered.
“Good question,” Wheatley replied. His brown eyes gazed into her blue ones, and internally he felt like a dork. However, he’d come too far now to stop himself. “A princess needs her loyal knight.”
“I’m lucky to have you.” Cal felt the moment hanging around them. She bit her bottom lip as she pushed some hair out of his face, letting her hand cup his cheek after. They had had an audience earlier when she kissed him. This felt different.
Wheatley looked at her as if asking permission. He was a gentleman after all. He leant in slightly, his surprisingly mint-like breath could be felt on her lips. Her breath could be felt on his own. His heart was racing, friends could surely do things like this and have it not be weird, right?
She knew he was waiting on her. Cal swung her leg over him, gently climbing into his lap. She gave him a lopsided grin at her awkwardness. She had no idea what she was doing, but she knew what she wanted in this moment. “I want this,” Cal whispered, biting her lip. She quickly added, “Just for right now, and here with you. I can’t promise you anything, because I still love him. But, I love you, too.”
“I know. I don’t expect such a promise, and you’re free to go whenever,” Wheatley replied, meaning every word. “Just don’t lie to me or anything. I love you, too. Not like a lover, but more than a friend. I don’t know how to explain.”
“Oh?” Cal flashed him a slightly devilish grin before trailing a row of kisses across his jaw. When she made it to the other side, she gently bit his ear before whispering, “I promise I won’t lie to you.”
Wheatley let out a very soft exhale, but his pupils were dilated, giving away his actual thoughts. This was very new, but oh so welcome.
Cal continued to kiss down his neck before sucking on a spot right under his collar. She pulled back to look him dead in the eyes as she playfully ground her hips against his. “Enjoying yourself?” She chuckled.
Wheatley bit his lip once, he didn’t want to give her the satisfaction. But oh dear Gods did he enjoy it. He let out a low growl, animalistic and full of emotion. His hands went to her hips, but he leant his had back as she attacked his neck. It was a weak spot.
Cal chuckled at his growl, moving her hips again. Her eyes were half-lidded as her eyes roamed his face, taking in the lust in his eyes. Her hands loosened his shirt a bit to give her better access to him. She leaned down to gently bite his neck, kissing and sucking her way across, but leaving marks in places where no one would notice. “What do you want?” She murmured.
“You to lose.” He realized what she was doing, so he returned the favor. Easily mover her shoulder strap to the side and holding onto his lustful noises sh she didn’t win. He swiftly flipped them so he was on top of her, pinning her down.
He trailed his lips so softly down her neck, making sure to pin her hands above her head on the seat with one of his own, keeping her out of reach. With his freehand, he gently rested it on her thigh before moving it up slowly. He growled something about “clothes in the way.”
Cal bit her lip as she struggled against his hands. “Wheat, this is cheating,” she whined.
“Cheating?” He leant in and whispered in her ear. “I’m using what I’ve got to my advantage. Bit... I’ll play fair.” He let go of her restrained hands. “Beds are much comfier though.”
Cal exhaled at his comment. “I swear, you’ll be the end of me,” she smirked, wrapping her legs around his torso. She ran her arms up his chest and over his shoulders. She looped her arms around his neck, playing with the hair at the back of his head. She gave it a teasing tug.
“Oh, I’ll give you the end,” he joked. Wheatley was unfazed by hair play, and instead kissed her deeply. His tongue gently licked at her bottom lip, asking for entrance without actually saying it.
Cal opened her mouth to him, tangling her tongue with hers to cover up the moan threatening to spill from her lips. She pulled back to suck on his lip before going back to attack his neck.
Wheatley stifled his own moans by burins his face in the crook of her neck. He gently blew on the skin there, his breath cold. He then grazed his teeth against the spot, lightly.
Cal shivered in his arms, feeling her back arch into him. She gently ticked a line up his jugular before sucking lightly. “I’f you’re trying to seduce me, it’s working,” she teased.
“Is it?” He played innocent, but he knew what he was doing. “Oh, pardon me, Princess.” He pretended to go to get off of her.
Cal made a slightly strangled noise in protest, sitting up on her elbows.”W-wait! Wait. Wait. Wait,” she chuckled.
Wheatley grinned back at her and got back into place. “I win,” He chuckled. “You pleaded for me to come back.”
Cal rolled her eyes at him, but smiled. “What do you want as a prize?”
Wheatley shrugged. “Whatever you feel like giving.”
“Well,” She said, looking up at the ceiling in thought,” we have multiple options. There’s this statue that Padmé gave me, there’s this nice blanket I have, there’s me, I could give you a compliment?” She smirked.
“You’re an option?” He chuckled, but then became serious. “I won’t do anything unless you want this. I don’t want you to feel forced into anything.” He rambled too much.
“Sounds like someone feels like he can’t live up to the reputation he’s built,” she smirked, getting off the sofa and taking a few steps away from him, “But if that’s the case then I can always go get the blanket...”
“No, no!” Wheatley rolled over and got to his feet, going to pick up Cal in his arms. “Beds are a better place for things.”
“Wheatley,” she said, blinking up at him, “You didn’t close the door earlier.” She realized that anyone could have walked by and would definitely have heard them making out on the window seat, or seen them if the person was particularly voyeuristic.
“Fuck,” he placed her on the bed and ran to the door, shutting it and locking it. He then went to the window and drew the curtains.
Cal laughed at him. “Are you expecting droids to come looking through the window?”
“Doesn’t matter,” he growled. He stalked back over to her, he wasn’t as scrawny as he had been when they first met. He was taller now, leaner.
Cal felt her breath hitch in her throat. The way he looked at her hit her hard. Her eyes trailed up his body, admiring the view. “Can I ask you a question?”
“Of course.” He sat down on the bed.
“How long have you wanted this?” She asked. The question came out small. She knew he kissed her earlier just to help her get back at Obi-Wan, but she didn’t want to take anything from him.She didn’t want him to do this just so he could brag at Obi-Wan’s expense to get under his skin.
“I...I don’t remember when it started,” Wheatley confessed. “And this isn’t just to piss off Obi-Wan.” He looked vulnerable, so different from his normal self. “If you want this, with me, I want this, too. But, if you don’t, we leave it here.” He left the choice entirely up to her.
Cal responded by threading her hands through his hair to pull him into a kiss. She kissed him, progressively getting harder as her hands tugged at his shirt. She started to kiss down his neck. “This. Off,” She said between kisses. She wanted more access to skin, to feel him beneath her fingertips.
Wheatley almost tore off his shirt and threw it to the ground. His leaned and toned body was very apparent now.
Cal’s hands roamed his chest, followed by her lips. She kissed and nipped a trail around his torso. “Force, Wheat, you’re gorgeous,” she said.
“Not as much as you,” he let out a breathy groan at her actions. “Make it fair!”
“Oh?” she smirked as she stopped kissing him momentarily to reach the end of her shirt. She decided to tease him and take the shirt off at an agonizingly slow pace.
He growled deeply, frustrated. It seemed he and Anakin had a bit more in common: impatience.
Cal tossed the shirt next to his. “Your growls make me think I’m not worth the wait,” she laughed, “If I’m going too slow for you, please, be my guest.”
“You’re worth the wait,” Wheatley replied. “I just... really can’t fight off my instincts right now.”
Cal’s eyes twinkled with a bit of mischief. “Then don’t,” she whispered, pulling him towards her to kiss him deeply. “I’ve known you for ten years. I trust you.”
“I trust you, too.” With a restrained growl, and twinkling brown eyes, he kissed her hotly. Any need for formalities was dropped.
