“I think I could settle down right here with you and still be happy,” Jayde murmurs one night, her head pillowed in Callum’s lap as they gaze up at the stars. She isn’t exactly sure where they are - they’ve been traveling for so long, and the places, as wonderful and breathtaking as they all are, have begun to bleed together - but it doesn’t make her words any less true.It’s strange, she thinks, because neither she nor Callum has ever expressed a desire to settle down, but Jayde thinks that may be exactly why she feels so confident in her words. She could be happy to settle down with Callum, purely because it would be their choice - one they made freely and on their own.She’ll be just as happy if they don’t, though, and she trusts that Callum understands what she’s really saying.
