Satyrus, also known as callitrix or cericopithicus, is a legendary ape depicted in some medieval bestiaries. They are said to be lively, and have pleasant faces.
Satyrus will always give birth to twins. The mother will love one child, and hate the other. The favoured child will be carried in her arms, while the other will have to cling to her back.
