I always recommend BBC Pride and Prejudice but I'm a judicious skipper when I'm feeling fragile of Mrs. Bennett being awful.

Hahahaha, I love that everyone recommends something different. But all of these are excellent choices. :D In the end, I think I’ll go for P&P - minus Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Collins, cause eurgh, truly the worst. :///

all the show would be about is the various adventures of widow and hawkeye (we could totally find out what actually happened budapest!!)

the only reference to romance is when they have to pose as a couple in order to infiltrate a party or something during a mission

otherwise they’re just partners and never discuss non-work related things, as they both prefer to keep their private lives private, like good spies should

i sort of get where you're coming from. it can be annoying, and depressing. but if the romance is sweet or more real than the usual i can enjoy it because "yay people who genuinely care for each other and do nice things/aren't petty or stupid".

that’s definitely a thing, which is why I’m always totally ok with shipping characters (see: kirk/spock, dean/cas, mulder/scully, etc). but all of those characters had seasons worth of buildup to their relationships, and a complex storyline. not to mention in all those cases their love for each other isn’t the main focus of the story

in far too many movies/shows/books there are whole plotlines dedicated to the relationship of two characters, which completely overshadow the interesting non-romance plots that the story really should be about

i guess all i’m saying here is why can’t we have just one show where there’s zero romance, and no one even brings up the concept??
