Hi! I saw you translate some text and I was just wondering if I could ask you about how Korean names work? I'm writing a small story and I wanted to add in a Korean family living in America. I wanted to give them traditional names, but I just don't know how they work and I don't want my ignorance to offend anyone that could ever read it. Could you help me by chance?

most traditionally are three letters (for example with svt members: 이지훈 (Lee Jihoon), 전원우 (Jeon Wonwoo), etc)

the first letter (이 for woozi or 전 for wonwoo) is the surname and the first name follows

common last names are lee (이), park (박), and choi (최) 

more traditional families will use hanja (chinese character thingies) to create first names but i never learned any of those so i can’t help much with that, so sorry;;

a somewhat common trend in korean families with multiple children is that the first or second letter is the same for all children. for example, i have a friend where their older sister’s name is Jina (지나) and their name is Jiwoo (지우). you can see that the letter 지 is repeated.
