Another big bright beautiful day of working in the bookshop!
Except – Greg was gone now so it was kinda weird, but that was okay because Callie did a pretty good job at her job, but now she just felt kinda really awkward around Greg, not that she ran into him a lot at all but she rehearsed like ten million convos of herself running into him and all of them ended a little weirdly and now she like made efforts to actively look out for him in order to avoid him and it was all kinda weird and Callie didn’t know how to deal with it really –
But, that was not something she should be dwelling on as she helped customers around the store! Talking to other people did take her mind of the sheer awkwardness of it all and she had just recommended The Sun is Also a Star to a sorceress looking for a romantic book for her younger sister and felt very proud of herself.
She hummed a little to herself now that the shop was empty, and took a big stack of books towards the back of the shoppe, since Hades told her to change out the front display to something more seasonally appropriate –
“Oh hiya!” said Callie, finding Lou towards the back of the shoppe. “I didn’t know you were in today.”
Yes, she knew Lou didn’t actually work here. He just kinda acted like he did. She hadn’t actually ever been one on one with him, mostly because Hades or Greg had always been around otherwise. She didn’t know how she felt about Lou, only that she felt bad for him because of the werewolf stuff (yeah, she could tell it was him).
“Are you doing anything right now? Hades told me when he was in to change the front display and I could use some help lugging these books!”
