⚠️ Paid commissions deleted, canon characters erased, I’m on hiatus ⚠️
I’ve kept quiet for years, I've tried to ignore the recent criticisms, letting a lot of behavior slide that I should have spoken up about sooner. But after the most recent fight we’ve had, I can’t stay silent anymore. This post is for transparency, accountability, and to protect other creators from going through what I have.
Recently, after a falling out, Kuru deleted every single commission I had ever purchased from him. That’s 51 paid commissions—pieces I paid for in good faith, that he voluntarily accepted, and then erased across multiple platforms without ever informing me. Not one heads-up, not one message. He didn’t just delete them in a rush of anger either—he would’ve had to systematically go through and removed all 51.
That is not only unprofessional, it is a complete breach of trust. Commission work is a business transaction, and when someone pays you for a product, you don’t get to erase it later because you’re upset with them. The fact that he did this intentionally, makes it even more disturbing.
And if that wasn’t enough—he is even planning to reboot his series to erase my other characters entirely. No Dallas, no Dolly, no Remus, no Gaku, no Bowie, etc. Years of characters, effort, and stories… just gone, because he wants it that way.
This isn’t just about a falling out. This is about years of insensitive, unprofessional, and problematic behavior that I’ve overlooked, minimized, or excused. But deleting paid-for work and rewriting the verse to wipe out my characters crosses a line I cannot ignore.
So this is both a warning to others and also a bit of a goodbye. Right now, I’m exhausted. This entire ordeal has drained me, and I just can’t anymore. I’m going on hiatus to reevaluate some things and take a step back for my own health.
If you are considering interacting with, collaborating with, or commissioning Kuru, I strongly advise caution. What happened to me is a very real example of what can happen if you fall out of favor with him.
