Oh, Mara. You poor girl. Absorbing everyone's problems and holding it all in until you're bursting at the seams.

Uh oh, the problems are leaking out now. Literally leaking out- what is this black fluid?! What are these masks?!

Xiomara is the antagonist of the first arc! Outfit is going to change but I like sketching the characters to get an idea for their final forms. The school colors are red and blue and I can see her being patriotic since she's student council president and head cheerleader.

The best way to describe Amo is conflicted. It's in his feather patterns, it's in his hair, it's in the human clothing he wears. Emotions are a liability and now he's surrounded by humans who are consumed by them. Driven by irrationality even if it dooms them...but is that really so terrible?

He's broken enough rules as is...

Another exploration sketch, this time with Amo! The tattoos aren't final and I actually made him resemble his older brother too much, so his face is subject to change too. He has big feathered wings but when they're dormant they appear on his arms as seen above.

I did a really fun art trade with @princekaiofstars featuring their lovely fire boys Agni and Red Boy! 🔥🔥

I haven't done an art trade in a long time so I had a great time with this one! Highkey proud of myself too because I don't regularly draw men AND I got to make them fashionable! 10/10 would do this again. Thank you again for the chance to be creative Khai! 😁💖

🍡DANGO—What is a piece of media you forgot about but rediscovered recently? Do you see similarities to it that show up in any of your projects/work?

A clip popped up about Samurai Jack and it made me watch a few more clips and reminisce. Samurai Jack was such an interesting show because you have the main story of Jack fighting his way to get back, and then you have moments where he just...chills! Relaxes. He's not so hard focused on his mission that he refuses to talk to anyone or pushes them away, but you see him make temporary or everlasting bonds and doing side quests to help people just because he's a good person. I think this influened why I like the quiet moments in between epic battles so much. When characters have time to breathe and remember that they are human with natural wants and desires. This gif captures the entire vibe I like to go for.

🍧SHAVED ICE—When creating something, do you keep more consideration of the audience or or your personal taste? Where is the line between self indulgence and self control?

It's a mixture of both, but currently I cater more to my personal tastes. At one point I did try to think more about the audience and would trap myself into writing choices that weren't really what I wanted to do. But after a while, I just said screw it and wrote what I what made me happy first and foremost.

You have to allow yourself some self indulgences or you're not going to have fun. And I think the line between that and self control is to at least by consistent with your characters/story, and to be respectful when using someone else's characters/story. It's a balancing act.

🧁CUPCAKE—What is one of your favorite projects/work and why? Would you redo any parts of it or keep it as is?

This art commission I did for @qonsolequeen is one of my favorites because look at Envie! I think she looks phenomenal and I gave her the most amazing boobs. That's the best bust I have ever drawn, hands down. I'm not joking when I say I always come back to this pic and admire the way I drew her whole torso and Envie in general.

I would for sure change Dai Tai's dress though. It just seems too plain and the colors blend together too much. 🤔
