Still Mornings | Cabin in the Woods | Cottagecore
Mornings:
Nines and Gavin get up in the morning. Well, Nines gets up in the morning. Gavin requires some more convincing, gentle prodding, and finally, the curtains being flung open. When he finally does get out of bed, it's after a mumbled good morning, and quick kiss, and then a few more grumbles about having to wake up so early.
Nines has Gavin's favourite breakfasts memorized, and he knows the recipes and every alternate form of them (that Gavin has approved) by heart. He makes Gavin an Omelette with extra cheese and no mushrooms, and then makes him a coffee as well.
At work Gavin drinks black coffee. Probably due to his fluctuating sleep schedule or his work load. However, Gavin also enjoys the fact that everyone at the station sees him as just a little more serious and "imposing" as Nines had once said.
At home he likes it with two sugars and just a little bit of milk. Nines swore on his life that he wouldn't tell anyone.
Nines left the food on the counter next to Gavin's usual seat and set the cat mug down gently before going to check on him.
Gavin had finished showering by then, his hair still messy and a little damp from his shower, but his work clothes were already on, but the faded leather jacket was on its hook outside to be put on as he left.
He smiled as Nines came in, both gave each other a quick kiss, before Nines took a towel to try and dry off Gavin's hair some more.
Gavin wrapped his arms around his boyfriend's waist while Nines helped him with his hair.
After a few minutes Nines deems the drying sufficient and hangs the navy blue towel on the rack on the wall.
"Are you gonna wash up a little as well?" Gavin blearily asked, his faced still slightly squished against Nines' chest.
Nines quirked an eyebrow.
"I'm already dressed, I washed my hands before preparing breakfast, which is waiting outside on the counter by the way," said Nines. Gavin stepped back to ruffle his hair a little in the mirror.
"Yeah but what about washing your face? Brushing your teeth?"
Nines smiled a little, "Androids don't require quite the amount of daily self maintenance humans do".
"Yeah, but it doesn't hurt to take care of yourself a little," said Gavin with a light laugh. "Sometimes washing your face just feels good, like a warm shower, it just wakes you up and gets you going".
Nines tilted his head a little.
"Couldn't hurt to try it out," said Gavin, stepping back from the mirror to toss Nines a dry towel.
"Alright," Nines stepped to the sink and began to soak it with warm water.
Gavin brushed his hair while Nines hesitantly brought the towel to his face and then paused, a little uncertain.
"It won't bite, I swear".
"Very reassuring, thank you".
Nines rubbed his face a little with the cloth.
"Not bad huh?"
Nines smiled a little at his boyfriend in the mirror.
"It felt nice".
It did feel nice. It actually felt nice and comforting, and Nines decided that he would try it again the next morning as well.
Gavin took the soaked towel to wipe his face a little more, before rinsing it out and wringing it dry.
"It never hurts to take care of yourself a little".
