What a beauty! It’s a female jewelwing in the genus Calopteryx, but I couldn’t get more specific than that.

Fellow bug touchers, what bug is your white whale?? like to see in the wild?? Mine is definitely the ebony jewelwing damselfly because apparently they live in my neck of the woods but as much of my bug-hunting takes place in marshy areas, I've still never seen one!
