2. a colour you don’t like to use

green? I have no idea why. I don’t mind green. I look GREAT in green clothing. green = money and weed and nature = happiness… but for some reason I just can’t put it to good use ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

this one because I was just kind of screwing around with some stock photos that I had saved and never used, and then all of a sudden it started looking really cool so I just kinda went with it?? also, surreal landscapes and weird old-school tech are my favorite things ever so I wanted to try it out!

10. 3 things you don’t like about graphic making

finding caps

coloring caps

spending hours on Google Images/Flickr Commons/various stock photo websites looking for images that (a) match what I’m looking for (b) are high quality and © I won’t get sued for using

12. Do you prefer making gifs or edits? Why?

graphics kind of fall within the category of edits, right? I can’t do screencap edits because I find coloring to be tedious… and my brain just kind of shorts out whenever there is more than one frame to anything.

mad respect to people who gif and edit though, I could never do what you guys do

14. When did you start making graphics?

fall of 2012 aka SPN season 8? I had an easy semester and it was the first season I was actually watching live so I had a lot of feelings

16. Which fandom do you like making graphics for the most?

SPN is pretty much the only fandom I make things for… heh

18. How long do your graphics usually take?

usually I’ll have a rough idea of what I’m doing/where I want it to go after a couple hours. but then I’ll let it sit for hours or days without looking at it, and then come back to it and rework it some more. so…. between 2 hours and 2 weeks? but counting just the time that it’s actually physically open in Photoshop probably 2—6 hours

20. Advice you would give to beginner graphic makers

experiment experiment experiment!!!!

be patient and keep it simple. don’t try to do everything at once.

reblog the stuff you think looks cool and keep it all organized in a tag for inspiration/reference. figure out why you like them so much and try to recreate certain elements with your own spin on it

don’t limit yourself to Tumblr for inspiration. check out what other designers, photographers, and artists are doing on Behance, Dribbble, etc.

don’t limit yourself to texture packs — look into free stock photo websites as well, because they are much higher quality!

if your graphic was heavily inspired by someone else’s graphic, or you’re using another Tumblr user’s poetry, CITE IT!!!!!!!
