Nora didn’t often visit Floyd Lamb Park or any park really. Her mind and ambitions were always elsewhere, lost in her workshop or watching people behind her blackjack table. She didn’t have time to slow down and even if she did take a break or two, nature was not her chosen mode of respite. But still, she recalled fond family parties at the picnic tables and attempting to skip rocks with her cousins by the pond. Walking through there now felt as though she was walking through a time capsule and she was grateful to spot the older man at a bench overlooking the water before her past memories got the best of her.
Pip, her ever faithful familiar that doubled as her service dog, stepped in front of her, his tongue hanging out as he walked them with confidence towards Cam. Ducks swarmed around the man as he tossed food out to them, but they moved away at the sight of the dog except for a few brave ones who moved to the other side of Cam’s legs. She’s heard stories of the man (spend any time with the Talbots and his name will eventually come up) but she hadn’t spent any actual time alone with him. She wondered if she would finally see why Connor held him so highly in his heart. “Cam.” She smiled towards him and took a seat. Pip sat in the space between the two humans and rested his head down. “I don’t think we’ve been properly introduced. I’m Nora Lucas.”
