I respect and love that Mark is totally good with anybody making reaction videos/playthroughs of ISWM/AHWM/ADWM/the trailers (he said in today’s member mixer that as long as people link back to the original in their video, either in the description or endcard, it’s all good), but the idea of actually making one myself fills me with so much anxiety.
Like how can you focus on the thing if you know there’s a camera on you the whole time? I can’t even handle the knowledge of being observed when I’m in a meeting with my coworkers, and have to actively block it out of my mind in zoom meetings. XD
That said, I did watch a couple of reaction videos to AHWM after it came out, and one of the best things about showing it to a family member was seeing her reactions and letting her make the choices (the only Markiplier videos she’d seen before that were the Barrel ones, and for those curious she got the aliens ending first try).
I guess for the same reason I watch let’s plays of games that I’ve played before, seeing people being taken back by something they weren’t expecting, hearing them reason through choices that you wouldn’t have necessarily made the first time around...’S nice.
All that to say, I’m really, really glad Mark’s okay with those kinds of videos, to the point he’ll make sure to get any copyright strikes disputed if they do happen. Half of me wishes I was comfortable enough making one of my own, but I’m sure I’m going to be so head over heels in love with ISWM when it comes out that I’ll seek out the ones others have made just to have the experience of watching it along with someone else again.
