Nuke Auto-Projection Mapper
Use the Cameratracker
CAMERATRACKER for After Effects® plugin allows you to pull 3D motion tracks and matchmoves without having to leave After Effects. It analyses the source sequence and extracts the original camera's lens and motion parameters, allowing you to composite 2D or 3D elements correctly with reference to the camera used to film the shot.
The Foundry’s CAMERATRACKER enables 3D motion tracks and matchmoves for Adobe® After Effects®, and for those facing complicated projects remains an excellent addition to your After Effects arsenal.
Where Adobe’s onboard 3D Camera Tracker offers ease of use and high automation for a wide range of users, The Foundry’s CAMERATRACKER will continue to offer greater control over complex tasks. CAMERATRACKER continues to be the tool of choice for those needing extra help when facing tricky tracking tasks on complicated projects thanks to its refinement options, advanced 3D feature preview and lens distortion handling.
Rotoscoping the plate
This is the Nuke script which can be used to use the tracking data of the 3D Camera for rotoscoping the plate without animating the roto node. It works quite well, because you create the roto on a card in the 3D space. Then you project (with a project 3D node) the plate through the tracked camera on this card.
In this tutorial I will be demonstrating a method of utilizing your 3D camera data to help in the rotoing process. By projecting your plate onto a strategically…
Today I started with rotoscoping the plate to get an alpha to place the matte painting on a card behind the plate (footage). The shot was easy to track with the NukeX Camera tracker. I got a good result, but then I was wondering how to use the tracking data to animate the roto. I found a very good tutorial which describes exactly this task and it worked out very well:

This is a playblast of me trying to put a cg character into real footage. The track wasn't bad and i would have done a batch render but the video would be too big to upload.
