this is super neat! out of curiosity, is it simply cultural to you/your family or is there a religious aspect to it? don’t feel obligated to answer if you aren’t comfortable, i just love to learn about things like this ^^
It’s religious for my family, although I do have some Celtic heritage on both sides of the family (for those of you who may recall that my mom’s family is Puerto Rican, there are indeed Celtic tribes in Spain!)
But tbh neopaganism is a clusterfuck of mostly just people doing whatever the hell they want based on some stuff some occultists in the 19th century said after maybe looking at some pictures of Egyptian gods, so don’t feel like you’re appropriating anything if you want to celebrate Imbolc the way my family does. It all very much varies from person to person, and please take anything I say with a grain of salt since I’m not a historian (sadly).
