I feel like the acotar smut scenes has completely ruined my brain bc everytime there is a smut scene that is similar to an acotar smut scene my body tenses and I just start shaking my head. I find most of the smut in acotar CRINGY, especially from acomaf onward. For example I was reading Throne of the Fallen by Keri Maniscalo and the main couple love art. The guy has been fantasizing about them having sex on a canvas with thier bodies covered in paint. It's kinda cute bc they love art. But the scene started with him drawing a circle on her breast with paint and I got war flashbacks. DON'T YOU DARE DRAW AN ARROW TO HER COOCHIE.

Even with a name like Lore Brimstone, which practically begged for a dark, romantic adventure, I was doomed to never be a main character in real life for one insurmountable reason—I had no tragic backstory. No dead or terrible parents. No murdered sibling or dark family secrets. No snarky animal familiar to speak with, mind to mind. And—much to my constant dismay—no fated mate trying to strike a questionable bargain with me.

I think I read this bit first on Kerri Maniscalco's Instagram from the snippets she gave us. But this still makes me cackle.

Also, please tell me it's not just me but I keep imagining Emilia, Camilla and Adriana questioning Lore when she joins the club like the Disney Princesses questioned Vanellope in Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Like tell me you don't see Emilia asking her, "No murdered sibling or dark family secret?" and Camilla and Adriana asking her, "No dead or terrible parents?" Then, they'll ask about a questionable bargain and Lore will go off about Sloth and then they'll be like "She's one of us!" I'm sorry but that's literally playing out in my mind. 😭✋🏻
