i think it’s probably because, in my experience, almost everything in those tags was porn?

The straight tag i can still go to, but it's blank. However, the heterosexual tag i can still go to EVEN THOUGH IT IS PACKED WITH PORN IN NSFW MODE. I can also still go to the transgender tag even though it is often filled with porn. Like they could honestly just filter out the NSFW posts and let you view the gay/lesbian/bisexual tags like they do other tags but nope, they won't even let you see the tags, even the SFW stuff.

turning down the brightness or using an extension to make the screen adjust to a warmer, less harsh color can help too!

You're right! I started using F.lux about a year ago and noticed a HUGE improvement! The screen wasn't so harsh to look at at night. I also do turn the brightness down when it gets dark out.
