she knows better than to wander the streets of union after dark, but cat-like curiosity flows through her blood. she can't help herself. the quiet streets, & the sounds of summer, make her feel at ease. this place is as close to a utopian town as anyone could find. too bad none of it is genuine. all of it is built on lies & elaborate fabrications.

however, she tries to not think about it for too long. passing the residential area, she pauses outside a small cluster of homes & looks at them. all of the interior lights are off except for a few of the houses. she finds herself lost in them, & it isn't until she hears a voice that juli is reminded that she isn't alone in this world. she sighs silently.

a small chuckle momentarily escapes while she shakes her head, & then her expression goes blank. she knows that particular accent anywhere. ❛ well, shit, can't a girl go for a walk at night ? ❜ she doesn't turn to look at him, instead, she keeps her eyes on the houses. he has as much free will as anyone else inside the town, but the administrator has expressed mild concerns. due to this, she is sent in to check on things, so having him find her, feels like fate.

This was the first time silk had touched his skin. It hurt at first, the incessant pressure, the friction of his resistance, the acidic burn deep in his unnaturally twisted joints. The discomfort levelled out around the same time that his furthest extremities became cold, swollen pink. His only relief was the numbness that settled soon after.

"The more you struggle the more interesting this all becomes. Sometimes the most basic tools create such exquisite art." @camkill speaks this with love. The words have become cottony, meaningless, yet that infatuated tone still comes through. The harsh white lights leave no facet of him a mystery. No shadows, no place for darkness to hide. Rigged up like a whole hog on a holiday, all gussied up with twine. A sacrifice on display; bled to wet appetites.

Unlike the prized pig, Carlos is alive for his exhibition.

By the sapping of his energy, once so fierce, alive for not very much longer. All he could do now in defiance was stay conscious. A sickening pallor spread on Carlos' sweat dappled face as his vision narrowed. The pedantry of knots squeezed tears to the brim of his dark eyelashes, and blood to the bindings. Glossy-eyes fluttering as if to convey in these dimming final moments: fuck you.

There was a crash. A shower of sparks. Bulbs shattered to mist. Shouts, the thunderous approach of footsteps. The UBCS hirelings exploring the building had been combing Carlos' assigned wing of the operation's sweep, combing the derelict halls with efficiency and relative silence. The hunt had been triggered by a missed routine check-over the radio, but by the time the serrated edge of their standard combat knife severed the first of the silks, Carlos' heart had already stopped.

White walls. A camera on the countertop. Squad A's medic stooped over a clipboard. Lowered blinds on an inappropriately sunny day. The glare from between the slats was grimace inducing, and almost unconsciously he pulled the scruff of the thin medical blanket up, feeling as naked in its light as the last thing he remembers: the pulsing strobe of the tripod's flash.

Comrades gather to console him with the fact that he is alive, but he only hears they tell him next: that they failed to apprehend the man that did this to him. He rubs over the oddly hairless, bloodraw striations marked on his arms, and succumbs to another sleep.

        so,  it's  just  never  unusual  for  his  photo  to  be  taken  while  he's  minding  his  own  business.    and  regardless  of  what  he's  doing,  if  he  so  senses  that  a  camera  is  on  him  —  jiwoon  would  just  pretty  himself  up  on  command.    a  sweet  smile  on  his  lips  was  immediately  present  as  he  timed  the  click  of  the  other's  camera,  an  idol  that  was  ready  to  give  the  best  photo  for  the  other  to  keep.

She laughed callously as she continued with her agonizing slow strokes. "What's the matter, are you impatient?" Good things come to those who wait, and she was pushing him as far as possible. Already he was going over the edge.

But not in the way he wanted.

"We could change things up a bit." Her hands ran down his body, her voice coy as she looked at him with a smile. The building used to be a mattress factory and there was a bare one laying a few feet away. "Maybe you should lie down." There had to be something around here she could bind his wrists, one of her belts would suffice if there was nothing else.
