Its not very often that you call a ‘weather day’ because its too sunny, but such was the case this past week while shooting a story about crabbing around the famed ‘buoy 10’ at the mouth of the Columbia River Gorge. We were looking for cold, wet and rainy… typical winter weather for the PNW, but instead we got sun. So to make the most of a nice day my assistant, Will Saunders and myself went for a quick run up to the summit of Saddle Mountain. A popular summer adventure due to its proximity to Portland, it was dead quiet in the middle of winter. -Tim Kemple
