Glacier National Park, day two. We hiked the St. Mary area of the park through a 15 y/o wildfire ghost forest to a series of waterfalls. The hike was great, but the drive to the trail head was just as wonderful. Makes the Tetons seem small in comparison. Covid Camp Site No. 7: Gallatine River site, Montana. Another interesting hipcamp site, outside Three Forks, MT. Campsite features include flat dry spot, the scents of wheat and sweet corn fields, a sounds of a river bend, an active railway, and a rifle range within earshot. Saw beaver, muskrat, and tons of birds. Watched the evening rail cars roll by, looking for @allchrome. Site was another farmer-owned lot. Consultation Prize. Attempted to visit Wind Cave National Park in Hot Springs, SD. Due to Covid/elevator issue the Wind Cave was closed. Incredible! Growing up on the East Coast you always heard tall tales about the West; 500 foot trees, prairie dogs the size of 12 packs, giant blue oxen, etc. Still, my imagination and I were not prepare when @velocamille and I stumbled upon multiple giant terrestrial beaver lodges in S.
