They’d been planning the trip for weeks, just waiting for the weather to clear up enough to drive out to the camping grounds and set up. The weekend was promised to be fair and sunny but a few looming clouds threatened otherwise. Mariku kept glancing up at them, peering through the windshield of his truck as they drove, as if they’d keep at bay as long as he kept his eye on them. 

“If it rains, man... I swear to god,” he said for the fifth time in the two hours they’d already been driving for.

Ya know what's fun? Camping. Ya know what's even more fun? Having to go camping at a Premier Inn because your tent is broken straight from the box and you only find that out while trying to assemble said broken tent in the rain in the middle of a bloody field on the Isle of Wight MILES and a ferry away from home. I want a hot bubble bath, white chocolate raspberry cookies, and maybe a cry.

Also, my princess of a corgi shares my sentiments. The lack of air conditioned cushions disturbed her.

But we had much fun! Now to tend to...at least the first dozen pages of my dash.
