(Ngl it's been a while since I posted one of these) Thalia,Percy and Nico regularly go camping together. It started off as a comment Thalia once made when they encountered each other, and got ambushed by a bunch of monsters,in the middle of a random forest. Thalia was scouting a forest nearby where the Hunters decided to camp during one of their hunts; Nico was there resting from his most recent shadow-travel,a long jump he made while on a solo-mission; and Percy stumbled there during a quest with Annabeth (they separated from each other for a while as a part of a plan). All three of them were clueless of the others'presence, fully believing they were alone in that part of the forest, until they met in a large clearing with confused faces. They didn't even have time to have a proper conversation and shake the awkwardness off that they got attacked by a lot of monsters because Big 3 kids together are a huge red flag to them. Anyway they end up fighting them and helping each other, and during the chaos between the monsters dying and their conversations (because they are still talkative under attack) Thalia goes "We should do this more often." Percy answers her with a "Sure, why not." ; Nico just shrugs but he's ok with it.
Anyway time passes and they end up not doing anything because they kinda forgot about it (and also because they assume it was just the high of the fight to suggest something like that). Until they stumble on each other again in another different forest, for different reasons (Percy was on a natural field trip with his school,Thalia was just strolling around because that's where one of the Hunters's bases is located, and Nico was trying to find an healing herb to gift to Will). And the same thing happens because their luck sucks. They fight off the few monsters around and Thalia and Nico help Percy to go back to his school trip without looking suspicious (mist manipulation came in handy this time).
A month later it happens again and all three of them are done with it. Since destiny wants them so badly together in a forest Percy decides to make it a real thing. It start monthly: one night camping together near the end of the month. But as they grow closer and let the awkwardness go the camping trips becomes more frequent: from one to two to whenever they want or need (they like to rant about their days to each other since they understand each other),until it becomes mandatory to have a camping night every weekend.
Most of the time they go camping in the forest that surrounds CHB,they have a good knowledge of the area and they are close to the camp's borders if something happens. It's also the closest forest to Percy, and it takes little time for Nico to go and fetch Thalia (and Percy if he isn't already there) and come back with their equipment. Sometimes they even travel together from Sally's apartment (Thalia and Nico often visit them, especially when it isn't summer). The three of them still attract monsters,it doesn't matter their location and CHB's forest still has its fair share of problems to deal with, but once the monsters start to notice the pattern they try to keep away from them because it's impossible to win. The few that still try to launch an attack are instant-killed by 3 pissed off demigods (they don't like getting their camping trips interrupted). Some of the monsters even cry become desperate. "Why are they still here? They were here last week!" "They are here every week." "And we can't hunt with them here!" "The fuck you want me to do? Last time we tried to get them they killed us. We had to wait weeks to get back,I ain't doing that shit again." "I knew we should have tried another forest–or better, another profession entirely!"
Once Jason and Hazel are part of the cousin group they get thrown in the mix too,so the trio become a quintet on some occasions. Jason and Hazel don't always show up since CJ keeps its demigods busy and they often can't find free slots of time,so it's still mostly just Thalia,Percy and Nico hanging out together. They are chaotic, often end up in trouble because they get carried away with their ideas, but they would never trade their bonding nights for anything else.
And they ended up accidentally traumatizing a whole bunch of monsters, but it's not like they care because those monsters tried to steal precious time from their camping trips.

We went on a beach trip last week, and because Ivan is too medically fragile to be boarded at the kennel he came with us. We camped the first night and stayed in a hotel the second night, and he didn't enjoy either one.
Camping was probably preferable for him but because he's deaf now, it's really hard to communicate with him. People walking past our campsite surprised him constantly and he'd alarm bark, and I'd have to get his attention to tell him to stop. He did settle eventually but it wasn't very fun for any of us.
The hotel was even worse because there were so many stairs to get in and out of our room. It's still really hard for him to do stairs even with the mobility harness on, and by the end I could tell he was pretty sore. He's also out of practice walking past other dogs-- 2 months ago he was having no trouble minding his business but since he can't go for walks anymore (and he's probably feeling vulnerable and crotchety) he's kind of over it at this point; he was staring and growling and just generally being rude (as he struggles to maintain his balance-- like what are you going to do, dude, you can't even walk? Not the time to be trying to pick fights...). This was likely his last trip. It's hard enough just loading him into the car, but that plus his behavior backsliding and the fact that none of us really enjoyed ourselves is enough to just spend our time at home in our own garden.
