Camp Shadow Inauguration Camp out with us & stand in the Shadows to experience: - * Metal Art Exhibits: Do you stand up to these Spirits of the Past? * Living History Characters: Walking among us Lt. James Berry & William "Buck" Brown * Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: State Representative Jana Della Rosa * Food: Let them have their Cake & eat it too! * It’s explosive - kaboom!: Musket demonstration in authentic military-ware - Date: April 28 - Time: Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony 12:00 pm (11:00 am-3:00 pm) Location: Grassy knoll across from the Elm Springs Heritage Center on 106 Water Avenue - What is Camp Shadow? Simply described, it is as an Outdoor Metal Art Gallery, depicting Camp Life in Elm Springs during the 1860's Civil War. This Art Park will feature life-size silhouettes representing various Spirits of the Past who were a part of the recruiting and training camp of Camp at Elm Springs during the 1860's. During this initial inaugural event, we have an entire schedule of unique experiences from a Musket Demonstration to Ribbon Cutting by a State Representative and Ice Cream delicious refreshments. Also, walking among the crowd will be Living History characters depicting certain Spirits of the Past and other Civil war characters. If you are a living historian or reenact-or, please join us to become part of the experience by stepping into your own historical character as an attendee. - Additional as an Education Station, our plan is that this new exhibit will not only appeal to the casual art-lover and expert aficionados but will serve as a fun place to learn about local Civil War history as well.
