Top 5 watership down character designs and/or ships 👀👀👀

Oh? 👀👀👀

Ooo designs is kinda tough because each character is different in each adaptation, but here goes:

Film Hyzenthlay. She's gorgeous! I love her color scheme and eyeliner!

2. Graphic novel Woundwort. This design is absolutely perfect for him, and book-accurate too!

3. Graphic novel Blackberry. Not much to say, he looks great.

4. Tie between graphic novel Pipkin and Fiver. Adorable!

5. 1999 Campion. We knew he'd be here. Love that guy.

Basically what we've learned from this is that I LOVE the graphic novel designs. (I actually have every character design ranked by adaptation per character so u can ask about those too asdfghjkl)

SHIPS

Hazel/Bigwig/Hyzenthlay (book)

MY BELOVEDS!! THE rabbit ship forever. Ideal combination of my fav book ships Hazel/Bigwig and Bigwig/Hyzenthlay, and then Hazel/Hyzenthlay is heavily implied in canon, so it works out great. They just trust and respect each other so much!! They're perfect!

2. Campion/Woundwort (1999)

They are the WORST and they NEED to get over each other, but in the meantime whatever they have going on is so fun to chew on. What is wrong with them!!!

3. Primrose/Campion/Hazel (1999)

The endgame ship we deserved... They had so much more chemistry than campberry imo. Campion and Primrose having a weird thing in Efrafa where he protects her but never tries to initiate anything and she sorta trusts him...Hazel and Campion's crazy tension in "Friend and Enemy"...honestly I'm kinda neutral on Hazel/Primrose (it was pretty rushed smh) but Campion brings it together nicely asdfghjkl.

4. Hyzenthlay/Nettle (2018)

I just had to invent some doomed rabbit yuri! What's a fandom without any doomed yuri? I'm just a huge fan of angst lmao

5. Campion/Vervain (1999)

It started as a joke but it isn't anymore... What if we were the only ones who could really see each other. What if we couldn't let one another down because there's been so much betrayal already. "I know your heart." What if we were nemeses who were really weird about it. I have to work on Crossroads.

my case for campion/vervain

because they're silly but also ponderable...even thematic. please i'm not crazy

first of all it's funny

personally, well, i simply enjoy a nemesis crackship

like, you're almost too obsessed with that guy. if you know what i mean

also the uneven commitment to said rivalry is kinda funny. vervain "i loathe campion with the passion of a thousand suns and one day i shall unveil his treachery!!" vs campion "oh that's my coworker vervain, he's kind of weird and mean"

if you try to kill a guy’s girlfriend to get to him. um. verv. babe. uh. um

they literally canonically torture each other

their canon selves would be so mad. like so offended. and that amuses me

also just the comedic potential of them growing closer and being like "what?? of course we hate each other" while very clearly hanging out on purpose

but what if i'm serious

but what if i said they understand each other in a way no one else can

they've known each other well at their worst: their lowest points, their cowardice and deception, the terrible things they did in efrafa. after knowing all that...it's not like they could disappoint one another.

campion's already seen the worst of vervain, every bit of cruelty and cynicism, and it's pretty damn bad. he'd know exactly what he was getting into.

and on the same note vervain has always been able to see through campion's noble hero persona. campion would have no reason to keep it up any longer--he couldn't let vervain down with the truth of who he really is and what he's really done, because vervain's known the whole time.

there's no illusion to maintain, and there's a valuable kind of honesty in that. it's almost impossible for them to betray one another because they've already been through all that.

"i know your heart" is a real canonical line vervain says to campion. which could mean nothing

and no one else knows what it's like to be that close to woundwort, to have your very life entirely dependent on his whim but still, in a strange broken way, love him. everything you are has revolved around the general for as long as you can remember and it's hard for someone who hasn't experienced that to understand it.

the envy…the disdain…the resentment…the hate sex would be insane. who said that

campion is possibly the closest thing vervain's ever had to a friend even though he hates him, which is deeply pathetic and kind of sad. but seriously nobody else so much as speaks civilly to vervain

also what was up with campion saving vervain's life in 1x7? campion even lied to woundwort to do it, which is a huge deal for him!

obviously nothing would work out in canon, but the au potential...i can sense it...

please tell me i'm not crazy
