Destiny was the first place online where I felt comfortable presenting myself as trans. I made a female character, used the trans rep banner, and not a single person batted an eye.

I joined a discord server for destiny raiding because I was always interested in it. Presented to everyone as a girl. A really really kind group of people who would later become my raiding friends invited me to teach Deep Stone Crypt. They didn’t mind that I didn’t want to speak, as long as I could communicate in time.

It was… lovely. Being treated as me for the first time in my life. To this day, Deep Stone Crypt is my favorite raid. I tell everyone because of Deep Stone Lullaby, but it’s more than that. And I’ll forever hold this game and the people I’ve met in my heart.

If Destiny ever had a true purpose (a "Destiny") it was bringing people together of all types under the label of humanity; I myself find my true pronouns most at home in the Destiny universe due to its unquestionable inclusion and acceptance in the lore. Discrimination against queer or trans folks is just not a thing there.
