          it’s  one  of  those  rare  moments  where  things  don’t  seem  like  they’re  going  to  shit.  and  it’s  not  that  they  weren’t,  it  just  didn’t  feel  like  it.  sure,  maybe  the  thought  of  where  the  hell  they  were  supposed  to  get  food  from  while  they  remained  wherever  they  were  in  the  coming  months  loomed  over  their  heads,  but  it  seemed  distant  for  now.  the  holiday  season  is  almost  at  its  end,  and  everyone  was  awaiting  the  new  year  in  new  ham.  but  for  now,  snowfall  was  present,  coating  the  town  and  making  everything  quiet  for  once.  elena  had  managed  to  drag  campbell  outside  with  her  for  once,  insisting  that  they  have  a  snowball  fight  to  themselves,  maybe  build  a  snowman,  and  enjoy  some  hot  chocolate  after.  it  was  a  false  sense  of  security  and  happiness  that  was  good  from  time  to  time.  they’ve  nailed  each  other  a  few  times  by  now,  and  elena’s  lost  count  of  who’s  winning  because  it  doesn’t  matter,  she’s  having  fun.  she’s  busy  building  up  another  snowball  when  he  sneaks  up  behind  her  and  playfully  tugs  her  hair  to  stop  her  from  doing  so.  laughing,  she  turns  toward  him,  offering  a  playful  little  shove  in  return.  ❛  hey!  easy  on  the  hair!  ❜  she  teases  through  giggles  before  taking  a  moment  to  catch  her  breath.  ❛  maybe  it’s  time  we  take  this  inside  and  warm  up,  yeah?  ❜

*          𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒  𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄      never  appealed  to  mandy .    even  when  she  committed  the  most   vile   of  acts  :   everything  had  a  purpose ,   and  almost   always   it  was  to  her  benefit .   a  knife  is  twirled  within  her  grasp ,  not  as  a  threat ,  but  something  to  focus  on  in  order  to  keep  her  interest  held  in  the  moment .    (  okay ,   maybe  she  was  showing  off  a  little .  )    to  her ,  the  words  seem  to  come  from  him  as  a   challenge ,   only  earning  a  laugh  as  she  meets  his  gaze .    no ,  she  won’t  be  tempted  so  easily .    “  if  you  want  him  dead ,   that  sounds  like  a  you  problem .  ”    after  all ,   as  long  as   she   survived ,   whoever  was  gunned  down  in  the  crossfire  was  none  of  her  concern .
