I've realized I've been doing mini reviews to go with my #XpressYourselfVinylChallenge posts, and I'm OK with this. Maybe not every day will be a blurb, but some days will. That being said, day seven is is gonna Buffy Saint-Marie! She is an absolute powerhouse that has been on the go since 1962. She is not only an extremely talented musician/singer/songwriter/composer, shes also a record producer, visual artist, an educator, social activist, actress and a humanitarian. I freaking love her so much! I am so very fortunate to work in a beautiful, 100 year old vaudeville era performance theatre and concert hall. Because I work the shows, I don't get to SEE many shows, but I get to hear them. When Buffy came through the last time, I was so, so excited! I was able to not only meet this beautiful, magical being, but she gladly signed my record for me AND I was able to see part of the set. It was AMAZING. I was even able to get a set list after the show. This woman is SEVENTY FREAKING NINE and she still slays the stage when she sets foot on it. The stage at our theatre was perfect for this set, and I couldn't be happier that I got to experience this woman preform live on it, even if it was only for a few minutes. #BuffySaintMarie #powerintheblood #BuffyStMarie #CanadiaMusic #CanadianMusic #Indigenous #IndigenousWomen #IndigenousMusicians #IndigenousWomenInMusic #CanadianRockMusic #theviperden #supportyourlocalrecordstore #localrecordstore #nowspinning #brantfordont https://www.instagram.com/p/CE3GBL7MJZv/?igshid=vf9iybzromyt
