millie x liam break up au
different enough to warrant its own aka the one where matt is the answer to almost all of them
who wears the ugly christmas sweaters: i want to say neither but i also want to say matt convinces them to do it one year. like he saw his friend’s family christmas card where everyone was wearing matching sweaters and damn it, he wants one too. obviously, they give in because neither of them cany bring themselves to say no to matt when it’s about family thing. so they go out and buy these ridiculous sweater and take a picture in front of the tree. matt has the picture framed in his room.
who picks out the holiday movies and who makes the hot cocoa: matt picks the movie every time, obviously. which one year ends up in them watching the polar express about 200 times. neither of them complained though because as long as he’s happy, they’re happy. i feel like millie makes the hot chocolate though.
who starts the snowball fight: liam, still. matt and liam team up and get millie with two snowballs. every time it snows, liam heads straight to their house to build a snowman with matt. tbh though, liam spends 75% of his free time at millie and matt’s house.
who drags the other under the mistletoe: neither but matt tries to get them to kiss. every year, he somehow finds a way to get his hand on mistletoe. he will not rest until he sees them kiss. which one year ends up in a really awkward super short before liam leaves as fast as he can.
who decorates the house: i really wasn’t kidding when i said matt was the answer to most of these. like obviously liam and millie help but it’s mostly matt. liam always comes over though to help decorate the tree. liam also puts the christmas lights on the house for millie, matt telling him where they go and taking control.
who hangs up the ornaments on the tree: all of three of them but mostly matt. like liam puts him on his shoulder so he can put the angel on top of tree.
who cooks christmas dinner: millie, probably. liam helps though. just a small dinner with millie, matt and liam. the family dinner they always wanted as a kid but never got. they can give it to their kid even though they aren’t really together.
who invites the other to sing a christmas duet: neither? like okay, once they get back together probably. although matt probably sings rudolph and they probs joins in. so yeah, i guess the answer to this one is also matt.
if they have any holiday traditions: okay, so i mentioned it this morning but whatever. liam spends all of christmas eve and christmas day with them. like he sleeps on the couch of the floor of matt’s room (one year, he fell asleep next to millie but details. snuck out of her room at five am after waking up next to her. in my head, he was totally in a relationship when this happened) but anyways, every year he makes pancakes for breakfast and they open gifts. then they just spend the day as a family and for a day, everything feels so unbelievably right even though he can’t kiss her under the mistletoe like he wants.
who would start a food fight during baking: probs, matt.
who would get drunk off of eggnog: i want to say neither except one year after matt when to bed. the earlier one from the original meme also still stands because the past is the same.
