#candle magic reference

could i use magic to increase my finances? or possibly to get a new car? sorry if this sounds ignorant, but i am. i'm a Christian, but i want to start using the kind of magic that you blog about.

The easiest way I’ve found is a simple candle work. Gather a candle, a piece of paper & a pen.

Pray to God about what you need. Write your desires onto the piece of paper. Place it under or in front of the candle. Pray that the candle and it’s smoke carry your prayers to God for the entire time it is lit. Remember to thank God for all He has given you in life, in yourself, in love, in your ability to talk to Him, in your ability to ask His help.

Remember that God will provide you with what you need, according to His plan for you, and that no one knows the plan He has in store for you.

You may be desperate for a new car and pray for such, but remember He may provide you with a bus pass instead. Whatever result, it is what He intends. Thank God for it and pray that you will learn from it.

Oddball question, but can you burn a novena candle for any significant reason (ie. a memorial or a spell) without doing the novena, or is that divorcing the candle from it's proper intent and purpose?

Keep in mind this is only my way of doing things and you need to follow God & your gut in your own practices.

If it was a novena candle and had artwork related to God (in any aspect), Mary, a Saint or an Angel OR was given to you for doing the novena, I would be reluctant to use it without doing the associated or expected novena.

If it is a plain candle or one with artwork without an expected novena, I would use it for a significant reason without doing a novena.

Whenever I light a candle, even one whose sole purpose is to make my home smell lovely, I have intent and say a little wish for my home when lighting it and then say a little thanksgiving prayer when I snuff it.

What can I say? I like candle work.

I have a practical question I was hoping you could answer! When using candle magic, if the spell calls to burn the candle completely, should I actually let it burn completely to the bottom or is it okay to extinguish the flame at about 1/4 inch of wax? (Some instructions online say for safety candles can't actually fully burn out) thanks!!

I typically use tea lights, so letting them burn out isn’t usually a probably. (I have no patience.) I’d suggest following the candle advice. When you snuff it, make some statement or intention that this is not the breaking of the spell, but is the natural conclusion and focus more energy into it working as intended.
