#OnThisDay August 14, 2014 @paulmccartney performed the last event at CandlestickPark. Coming off his appearance at @outsidelands in 2013, Paul was requested by the late SF mayor Ed Lee to close out Candlestick Park, where the @thebeatles performed their last payed performance and last US appearance. Candlestick Park held a lot of childhood memories for me seeing many @sfgiants games and seeing my Mom’s and best friend Scott’s (who was a season ticket holder) team the @49ers. Adding seeing Paul perform again, closing out Candlestick was insensitive enough for me to be there. #OnThisDay @Metallica performed at @tourthestick with @limpbizkit @linkinpark and @deftones. Metallica had just released #StAnger and were on their second stadium package tour, #summersanitarium. Earlier in the day I had saw @alkaline_trio at @bottomofthehillsf so missed both Mudvayne (didn’t care) and the Deftones (which I did care about). It was my only time seeing Linkin Park which I have no shame in admitting that I did enjoy their albums before the unfortunate break up due to the passing of Chester Bennington. Saw some of Limp Bizkit, but this would be my 17x seeing Metallica and the first with @robtrujillo on bass replacing @jasonnewstedmusicfp. The set list consisted of an equal distribution of the first five albums of the Metallica discography. Only two from their newest release “St Anger” and only one from “Reload” (Fuel). It was great to see one of rare times they played #NoRemorse.
