#OnThisDay August 14, 2014 @paulmccartney performed the last event at CandlestickPark. Coming off his appearance at @outsidelands in 2013, Paul was requested by the late SF mayor Ed Lee to close out Candlestick Park, where the @thebeatles performed their last payed performance and last US appearance. Candlestick Park held a lot of childhood memories for me seeing many @sfgiants games and seeing my Mom’s and best friend Scott’s (who was a season ticket holder) team the @49ers. Adding seeing Paul perform again, closing out Candlestick was insensitive enough for me to be there.
