TV Appreciation Week 2024 : Day 6 : Favourite miniseries → Candy
MELANIE LYNSKEY as BETTY GORE Candy (2022)
One thing that bugs me about this site is when I finish something and I look it up because it ticks all my favorite narrative boxes and features complex, messed up, chaotic women operating in a hostile world and I want all the meta and edits about said women operating in a hostile world and the majority of what I find are gifs of that one white guy that shows up
So I just found a video comparison of one specific scene in love and death and candy (the Hulu show) and there was this whole debate in the comments about who was better so what do yall think, I have my personal opinion that I already made public, but now I wanted to see other opinions specially bc in the comments they were all over the place bc apparently candy is supposed to be a cold person, but I think there's a difference between that and portraying that in a character and not being that good at playing the role and the little emotions they have, so Elizabeth Olsen or Jessica Biel??
Jessica Biel (top video) or Elizabeth Olsen (bottom video)

Elizabeth Olsen
I think it's also important to point out that the shows are clearly approaching the case in different angles Jessica's from what I've seen was more a general view and the one with Lizzie is more focused on Candy and what she said happened almost like it's her pov of the situation (which obviously is that she's a victim) you know
