FYI if I post screenshots of posts "polluting the tags" I wanna make it clear that I have nothing at all against those blogs, it is not a way of attacking them and it's most certainly not hate, my only goal is to show the hypocrisy of the people I'm dealing with and how their issue is far from being the tags when other posts exist and they don't care
Listen I'm team green's n°1 hater, but there's something that y'all need to be realistic about when it comes to team green in the show more specifically Gwayne. I saw some people mention how he's a hypocrite for calling out Criston for not doing anything about the soldiers raping women, meanwhile he's fighting on the side that is trying to put a rapist on the throne, and honestly if you look at it from an outside perspective, yes, it does sound hypocritical, however, unless I've missed something and I'm talking show only here, Gwayne does not know about the shit his nephew has been doing, it's not like he has a tv where he can watch the previous episodes to find out what happened, he's there bc not only is he a Hightower (duh) and a knight, but he's also responding to his sister's call for aid, so obviously he will help, he might know that her kids are not good, but we don't know the full extent of his knowledge, and on top of that if he chose to up and leave he would end up like his father, bc he would be considered a traitor.
I feel like to a lot of houses it was never about who was ruling but either about benefits and also debts along with familial bond. And it sure helped (Aegon's side) that his opposition is a woman, so the list of reasons for people in westeros to support him just gets bigger bc surprise surprise misogyny exists. It's not an excuse however to in the real world in 2026 to be supporting not only a rapist (that you want to put in power so that's very cute) but also a side that is actively fighting and started a whole war bc they didn't want a woman to rule. Y'all supporting that is icky as fuck
But then weirdos in the asoiaf fandom called me crazy for saying this exact same thing, but well guess what, even though I'm still getting harassed (ever since January btw, it's fucking July) and have the screenshots to prove it too, I don't give a fuck bc what y'all are harassing me for is for not standing up for pedo characters and romanticizing them, along with sexualizing and romanticizing rape as well, so since it hurt so much to hear it from me, well you're gonna hear it from another person too, bc now Hollywood had the brilliant fucking idea of bringing to life a book that is all about rape and the author even said that no they won't be "watering down" any scene quite the opposite. How about you get down your high horse and let people enjoy whatever the fuck they want? Things in the world are horrible enough for the morality police try to take enjoyment away from wherever people can find it. If you dislike a character, avoid it, block it, ignore it, but let's not pretend that liking them is some kind of moral choice. People have always loved villains, and many of them much worse than Aerion. I'm not particularly into it, but I'm old enough and mature enough to understand that it's not up to me to judge how much canon and be ignored or altered for the sake of entertainment and that doing it is not a reflection of someone's values in the real world. The actor who plays Aerion is good looking and likeable, that's enough for many people. Approaching fandom with hate is always going to make you miserable. It's always better to focus on what you like to have a more positive fandom experience.

Why is it so hard for Matt Smith/Daemon fans to admit that Emma D'arcy is undoubtedly the one carrying this show on their back, Matt is good along with Olivia and a lot of the other cast, but Emma and Rhaenyra are the heart of the show, people have this obsession with Daemon bc he simply goes and kills people, but how can y'all go around and love him so much for the shit he does but you go and say that Rhaenyra is "bland" or whatever y'all wanna say, Daemon is copy and paste in every episode, you always know what to expect from him, violence, a sarcastic comment, he's not as unpredictable as people want to say he is, he has one emotion and that's it, and this is not matt's fault it's just the character, but then y'all just hate on (female) characters that show more than one emotion, and putting the whole discourse of whether the show/characters are well written aside, looking simply at everything, not only does Rhaenyra give every bit of emotion and her story is the one that is actually interesting bc you're here to know how she will deal with the pressure of the responsibilities that she was not trained for and during an awful time, while also having to deal with a war that she never experienced, the loss of her kids etc etc, she has so much nuance, and Emma portrays all those nuances perfectly, meanwhile Daemon is just violence after violence, there's no actual plot that you can grasp at, all he wants is power and violence, where's everything else?? Matt did great with what the character gives, but to say that he "steals the show when he is on screen" or that "he is the star of the show" etc. is just plain bullshit not only is it not true but it's also ridiculous, I don't even know if people just say this shit bc of a weird obsession with daemon (and I'm not saying the normal fans I'm saying obsessive) or if it's pure misogyny (I literally saw someone say "remove the two women from the show and it's great" so) or if it's people's desire to see violence with little to no plot but it's ridiculous, and I can't help but also notice that the character that has the most emotions and complicated storyline with nuances and dilemmas is the one being called "weak" bc she shows those emotions, it's so gross and I do blame the writers for something I'm about to mention even though idk what my feelings are on that scene but clearly to the male audience it did more harm than good, go figure. The scene of Rhaenyra getting her period being used against her now, people saying "she can't even concentrate" as if she didn't do exactly that and responded perfectly to people everytime, it's so nasty, I'm not gonna get into the complicated opinion I have on the scene bc this is long enough and will get longer but unfortunately it made incel man pull out the usual argument of "woman can't be in power bc when they get their period they will start a war" bullshit, or that "woman are irrational and too emotional" it bothers me so much.
Rhaenyra is not and will never be weak for crying at the loss of her kids, or for having cramps or for not wanting to see MORE people suffer, people that did not have direct involvement, or even innocent people, Rhaenyra is not weak for wanting to continue her father's legacy of peace bc she might not know war but she understands like anyone would, the costs of war, everything we have seen that people wanna call weak, is what we should have in a leader and it's far from being a weakness. Rhaenyra not being able to behead someone on the first try is not weak, it's realistic and even male characters with experience have failed before, her crying bc she's seeing the very seat that started everything that eventually killed her kids, is not weak, she's so far from weak. And I'm ranting about this bc it makes me so mad that people still associate the idea of someone showing their emotions to someone being weak, and especially when in all of that we add the fact that she's a woman, so yes she is the more interesting character, the more nuanced the one that if you had a brain and actually wanted to follow a story for what it is, a story, and not just a plotless bloodshed, she's the one that you would be able to at least acknowledge as the great character that she is, but the GoT/asoiaf fandom is very used to one thing and one thing only in this franchise. So yeah Emma is the stand out, Rhaenyra is the stand out, Emma is carrying this show non stop and without them, it wouldn't be the same

I've always been the biggest house of the dragon defender and while I thought it had flaws I preferred to share and focus on the good over any of the bad bc people were just doing way too much and it became ridiculous the amount of nitpicking people decided to do over the most absurd things so why would I focus on the negative as well when I can focus on the positive. However, obviously with certain things coming out about season 3 and putting together the whole picture of how things have looked it was hard not to start judging some of those choices, so while I do still believe that people should (in general) not compare shows to books so much bc it will never look 100% the same, so doing this whole thing of judging every difference is ridiculous, certain things on the show could be the same as it was in the book and were changed for what looks like no reason, so I honestly think criticism for that is valid obviously, and I started being more outspoken on that and while I still didn't agree with a lot of stuff, it was criticism and it's valid, but after the show came out, after we saw this 2 episodes, while there are scenes that deserve criticism there are others that people are just doing the most about and it's absolutely insane the shit people are complaining about, so now I just look at what this people want to call "criticism" and it makes me cringe, bc no this is not criticism this is you hate watching a show just so you can have something to complain about later, it's not even remotely close to being normal, so personally seeing shit like this just makes me want to go back to not criticizing shit and simple defend the show from people who clearly have nothing better to do with their life. It's just so weird and so gross to just spend 1 hour, ONE HOUR, watching something that you are later going to look for details to complain about and judge the writers for, and the worst of it all is that even stills from upcoming episodes people have started to complain over.

I just finished watching episode 2 and as usual I know people will complain about everything and anything so I wasn't surprised to go on Twitter and already seeing people complain about things that are so stupid to complain about in my opinion.
According to some people, Rhaenyra executing Otto was Ryan doing another "humiliation ritual" to women, bc kings/queens have executioners which I understand but it's not that deep, and it wasn't a "humiliation ritual" I don't think anyone expected Rhaenyra to do a clean cut when she barely has dealt with swords, there's obviously things that deserve criticism and I am gonna criticize some stuff but others I don't think are that important to really get that upset about bc honestly I feel like it adds nice details to the characters on the show and shows that they are not absolutely perfect in everything they do, I wish they did that more and in other ways but oh well. The whole taking of king's landing is really something that I personally cannot complain about I enjoyed those scenes they were badass and I loved it, I hated when Rhaenyra pulled out her sword and the guards laughed but I guess in the setting that it is makes sense.
I personally hate what they are doing with Rhaena, they are treating someone of noble blood like she's trash and less than the others and it doesn't help that they chose to change their race just to then do this to them, it doesn't sit right with me, and the rumors of rhaena turning team green and marrying Gwayne seems to be looking more and more like it could be true, and it bothers me so much bc team black (the family) has always been so close so to have this happen it's ridiculous.
But what really REALLY pissed me off and I don't get it, it makes no sense, I accept explanations even if I don't know if I will be able to actually understand but what that lord (I can't remember his name) was going to do to Alicent bc he suspected that she was a traitor makes no sense, besides the fact that it was fucking disgusting obviously, but even in terms of plotline it makes no sense, like okay so some guards snitched and told him about Alicent sleeping with Criston and whatever other shit he knew bc I can't even remember what he already had been told, but it's absolutely insane that a lord would just go and try to assault the queen dowager all bc of this, I'm fully aware of the shit that women go through and went through back then even as queens, but it felt so random to have him just show up and try to do that to someone who was above him in hierarchy, I hope this makes sense bc it was so out of nowhere. And I also have the opinion that (and this will sound bad but hear me out) Alicent was 1000% a victim of her father and viserys, but it feels like the writers keep wanting to make Alicent a victim over and over again, when it's not needed, we don't need this it was uncomfortable and felt so uncalled for.
Anyway for some positive stuff, the way Jace's body was brought to dragonstone, the whole reaction to his body entering the room, and then THE Emma D'arcy delivering the best performance I've seen in such a long time throughout the whole episode, but especially when they are portraying Rhaenyra seeing Jace, it was truly a mind blowing, phenomenal performance, Emma has not disappointed once since season 1, the birth scene (both of them) on season 1, the first episode on season 2, and the rest of season 2 as well were all so good but this one really took the whole cake.
The cinematography was also stunning, the scene of Rhaenyra going up the throne and you see her bloody footsteps and her reflection in blood as a nod to everything happening was perfect.
Alicent keeps being Alicent tbh, but Helaena is honestly just adorable.
Okay I'm done, I think, sorry for the long rant, I doubt anyone actually read all that.
If Rhaenyra and Alicent actually kiss this season, I'll personally offer Ryan and the whole of HBO therapy sessions bc what do you mean, Rhaenyra lost her kids and her birthright bc of something that Alicent started and you're just gonna have them kiss?? If they did this in season 1 with young Rhaenyra and Alicent I would be fine with it, bc while I don't love this change from book to show it's still not something that bothers me I honestly really don't care, but NOW?? After all of this?? bffr

I just saw a clip of episode 2 of hotd where Rhaenyra is crying in bed bc of jace, and Daemon instead of being supportive and being there for her during her grief, bc quite literally Jace just died it's normal for her to feel down, on top of that she already lost two other children, he literally rolls his eyes and proceeds to tell her about everything he saw in Harrenhal about the prophecy and the Daemon dick riders, the people that will quite literally defend everything he does but attack women for having feelings and showing them, bc yeah a woman having feelings is so much worse than a man killing his wife, being with a child etc. they decided to create the biggest excuses for him about how "he's doing what he needs to do" "what do you want him to do" "at least he's doing something in this war" THAT DOESN'T FUCKING MATTER, THE WAR DOESN'T MATTER HIS WIFE IS LOSING IT SHE JUST LOST HER KIDS, SUPPORT HER, NOT HER AMBITIONS. ITS GROSS I'M SO DONE WITH DAEMON'S DICK RIDERS BRO. Y'ALL LITERALLY HATE WOMEN AND ITS SO CLEAR, SUPPORT WHAT SHE NEEDS NOT WHAT YOU WANT

If you could create a character to include in either HOTD or AKOTSK and I don't mean in universe oc, I mean you are creating a character that you imagine appearing in the show (and the whole setting they have, imagine that you are creating a whole actor to go and play this role) the only changes you can make to the plotline is in a way that makes sense to include your character but everything else stays the same as we have seen on both shows (not books).
