Imagine...
Candyman waking you from an intense nightmare.
(For anon)
Although Candyman didn’t sleep, he enjoyed laying beside you while you were off in the land of dreams. He wouldn’t stay all night, of course. He’d come and go; doing what he needed and returning to check on you periodically.
He could always tell when you were lost in a dream. He could see it in the way you’d move ever so slightly; or the way you’d almost speak in your unconsciousness. He wished he could peer into your mind to see what it was. He hadn’t had a dream of his own in so long. What a treat that would be. Alas...
Sometimes dreams weren’t so sweet. Sometimes twisted visions plagued your subconscious, causing the frightful restless sleep brought on by a nightmare. Candyman couldn’t tell right away that that’s what was happening. It took a while for it to build up enough. You started to toss and turn as if you were battling an unseen monster. He sat beside you, placing his hand against your cheek. Your brow was furrowed and your breathing grew rapid.
“Y/N... Y/N, you must wake up...” He spoke to you gently, running his hand through your hair and lightly shaking your shoulder. Once you were awake, you were clearly disoriented. He moved closer, reaching out to hold onto you. “It was only a dream...”
You recounted the details of your nightmare to him. He listened intently, cuddling close to comfort you and hopefully coax you into a more restful slumber. That night, he decided to remain until morning.
