How would you feel if Candy had her first kiss with her crush and didn`t tell you
“My daughter should not be kissing anyone at her age, let alone now when she needs to focus on school.” Philip scowls. “She’s been very irresponsible lately, and it’s about time that she-”
Whether it’s because he’s about to make a scene in front of the student or because she’s sick of his behavior, Lucia opts to step in, and Philip falls silent, albeit silently fuming. Her husband quelled, she turns to the student and takes a breath.
“I wish she would have talked about it.” The woman reaches up and toys with one of her large earrings. “I teased her about liking that boy, the one who took her out a while back, but she never said anything about him. Or her. Or how she feels about him. That’s something I always wanted to share with my daughter, you know?”
Lucia laughs slightly, if not sadly.
“My baby is growing up. I know I need to let go, and I don’t mind doing that, but it’s not hard to see she’s changing. Maybe changing too fast; she’s been so anxious lately. So…I just wish she would have come to me, talked to me…asked for some help.” She stares off past the student, not even registering the fact that Philip has wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “Does she not trust me enough to talk to me about these things…?”
