First Day {Cameron&Rin)
That morning, Cameron had woke up at five in the morning, unable to sleep due to the nerves of starting a new school. He worked on one of his unfinished pieces for awhile in the spare room of their new house, a makeshift studio in the converted attic. That had calmed his nerves a little, but his anxiety was particularly bad about ten minutes before he was due to leave, when he almost passed out from panic. When he managed to calm himself down, he kissed Jane's cheek and left with his mom.
Cameron's first day in Waxler wasn't too bad, once he'd been there for a couple of hours. His mom had to drive him to school to make sure he was okay because of how nervous he had been, despite his protests. When he found his registration class, he had sat in the corner of the room awkwardly and embarassed himself when he dropped his rucksack and his pencils spilled all over the floor, but everyone was eager to help in and people seemed relatively kind. So, so far so good. If only Jane was here with him. He knew she would love it.
Cameron had asked his dad to pick him up from school, because he knew he'd probably get lost if he attempted to get home on his own. He leaned against the gates, waiting hand-in-pockets awkwardly for his dads familiar green car. The boy soon realized he wasn't alone. Someone else was standing about three feet away from him.
