the amount of people STILL pulling up stuff he said years ago is staggering???
yuuuup. it’s like everyone conveniently forgets that *gasp* LEARNING is a thing. That a person can change. That not every minor quip influenced by a flawed viewpoint needs to be apologized for. And, I’m sure, a fair number are being taken out of context, too. And apparently no one has a problem with RTD’s objectifying that he literally did in his own book if I’m remembering correctly.

I saw someone claim that Moffat’s using One in Twice Upon A Time to be able to say gross sexist things he’d just LOVE to say but couldn’t and that was??? so confusing????
I... Well, I suppose this is one of those disappointing but not surprised things. W o w. Newsflash people: If someone’s supposedly that deeply sexist, it’s gonna come out in more than just that sort of thing.
And, y’know, forget and ignore the quotes where he’s said that he put that in to highlight problems the show’s had in the past and point out even to the Doctor how far he’s come. Urgh.
I’m glad I see most of these things second hand given I’ve been very selective in who I follow and unapologetic when it comes to unfollowing people for this sort of thing. Though the occasional tweet crosses my feed that causes me to roll my eyes and fight the urge to get into it with someone there... Urhg.
