commenting "insane refresh pull" on my mutuals seven second old vent post
This insane update from Neocities
When I was reading your post about the yondr pouches. I swear to god, it felt like I was trying to read/understand a foreign language I know nothing about.
AGDSHFDG hang on okay. let me explain.
all the phoebe bridgers yondr pouch stuff
phoebe bridgers (a musician) has recently been doing a lot of pop-up type shows that don't allow for phones/recording, and for the upcoming tour she has announced she is specifically going to be using yondr pouches to enforce this. A yondr pouch is basically a magnetic bag that can secure your phone/other tech in a way where you can't use it but you can still have it on your person (rather than like, locking it away at a designated locker area or entirely not allowing it inside the venue)
is just reminding me of the time at wtf when we had a standup testing out material so we were using yondr pouches
wtf is a theatre festival i have worked at for many years (yes i know its funny that 'wtf' is the acronym. the festival is overall starting to move away from the 'wtf' acronym but ive been involved there for a long time so i still default to that) and even though its mostly like. theatre productions and stuff, some years we've had stand-up comedians (idk why in the original post i made standup one word. i was just typing shit man) perform. often when a performer is testing out new stuff (be it a comedian with new material aka jokes/bits/stories like in this scenario, or a musician with new songs like what phoebe bridgers is doing) they'll utilize these pouches to stop unfinished/preliminary versions of the material from circulating.
and i was one of the people with the magnets to unlock ‘em,
so with yondr pouches, once the pouch has been closed with your electronics inside, the only way to open it is with these specific big magnets. now like, different venues can handle this a little differently but generally it'll be that there are designated areas where a staff member will be holding the magnet to be able to unlock your pouch if needed (areas that are away from the performance area, like in the lobby or something) and then at the very end of the show when it's over, staff members will be holding those magnets by the exits to unlock them. i was one such person (even though that was super not my actual job at the theater festival, it was just that that specific summer we had such a limited staff that everyone had to do a bunch of shit outside our normal job descriptions)
and after the show someone came running in freaking out because they’d accidentally left their apple watch in the pouch they returned
and so as people exit a venue, you have to collect the yondr pouches back from them once they've been unlocked and people take their electronics out. the pouches aren't like a disposable thing.
so we had to fucking dump the whooooole container of (mostly) empty pouches desperately trying to figure out which one it was in 😭
and specifically we were i think just straight up using like trashcans to collect them in as people left. and this one person had like, taken their phone out of their pouch but had forgotten there was another smaller electronic also in there, and thus they'd put the pouch (that still had the apple watch inside) into the container full of actually empty bags. and so we had just had to dump the whole thing out on the floor to actually sort through them and find the one that had the apple watch in it.
happy pride month btw

hope tumblr lasts another 20 years so i can liveblog my midlife crisis
I feel like a lot of people get "All Art is Political" confused with "All Art is made with Political Intentions" which is not the same.
No one knows if finishing a drawing is possible
Imagine all the things I could do if I just did them.
I got the game and now I get to feed my miis cigarettes too. >:)

today in "making up ways to help kids decompress on the fly": i had kids cup their hands in front of them and for 1 silent minute, picture a small mouse in their hand. afterwards they got to tell me, one at a time, what their mice did
figured it would be fun to add some quotes from my 4 year olds on what their mice did
"she danced and twisted"
"my mouse went to jump in a pond and then rowed a boat"
"mine ate cotton candy and then he got so sick"
"I let my mouse go and he went home to visit his family"
if your animal is lying on the floor, furniture etc, it’s important to take a picture of them. then, if they move or shift in any way, it’s important to take another picture. with this technique, you can take many pictures of your animal
