Maenad is a canned branding project I’m working on for class (and it’s almost finalized!). I haven’t posted in a while, so I figured I could post some of my design projects from this semester, including the process of ideating and creating.
Keep scrolling for my moodboards, and I can post more of my process later if you’re interested!
I’ve never really had to properly moodboard before this, so this was me experimenting with my presentation of it. I think it’s pretty nice.
My idea is based on Greek mythology, specifically the maenads that follow Dionysus. He's the god of wine and revelry, which everyone knows, but he's the god of fruits too. Maenad as a brand is marketing juices towards people who enjoy partying and the nightlife but don't want to join in on the alcohol consumption. Maenad's aesthetic matches that of classy beer brands to fit into party-like environments.
We have to create labels for physical cans, and so I've chosen some slim 12oz cans to wrap mine around. I've created three flavors inspired by both Greek fruits and my color scheme---Pomegranate and Cherry, Blackcurrant and Grape, and Pomelo and Apple. We're also building carrying boxes to hold our cans in. We need to create some mockups in addition to the physical products.
If you're interested in seeing the rest of the project, let me know. I plan to post the final cans and carrying box, but I can show more if you'd like. I also have plans to add this to my portfolio.
Humans are livestock to vampires, of course. But there are laws governing the treatment of said humans. They must be fed and housed and enriched and cared for. Vampires who break these laws are the ones “free-range” humans usually hear about.
this is ESSENTIAL, like, bro...if you don't take care of your human, it's gonna taste like shit, and you don't want that
you want rich blood, so you better treat them well to enrich their bodies
A solid "tropical" lemonade. Subtle undertones of pineapple but the result is slightly disappointing. Not as refreshing and lemoney as the original or as fun of a pineapple flavour as it could have been. Nevertheless it's sweet, acidic and very pleasant on a hot summer day.
