We are asking this because usually, there are going to be some mature topics discussed in our roleplay, and we don’t want a nine year old exposed to sex and drugs on a simple girl meets world roleplay. What they’ve been doing for the past eight years(1+ para):                       

Holly Short has been spending the past eight years as one would expect. As an LEP Captain, Holly continues to annoy her commanding officers with her recklessness, but she’s proven herself to be one of recon’s finest so they continue to put up with her. In her spare time she can be found with her friends, usually handing out sassy retorts left and right as her friends can be rather sassy themselves (*cough* Artemis *cough* Foaly *cough* Mulch *cough cough*). Although her life has been taking a turn for the relatively quiet, Holly hasn’t settled down and continues to keep an eye out for the many dangerous enemies she’s made over the years, including Opal Koboi.

Holly stumbled through the door of her home in Haven city and crashed onto the couch. She had been through another misadventure with the famous Artemis Fowl and was ready for a nice long nap to recover. “Time jumping could really take it out of a person” she thought to herself as she kicked off her shoes and sighed. Although, to be fair, she had done much more than time jump. She had been sedated and kidnapped multiple times, was almost publicly executed in front of a group known as the Extinctionists, and worst of all, she had reverted back to her teenaged self. Holly massaged her temples as she replayed the turn of events for the millionth time.

She froze when she heard a crash from the kitchen, but relaxed when her friend, Mulch Diggums, appeared in the doorway with armfuls of food. Holly held up her recently recovered omnitool and waved it at Mulch. The dwarf had stolen the treasured possession years ago, and Holly had reclaimed it from the past. Mulch was so surprised, he dropped his loot and stood gapping at Holly for a moment. Holly found the startled expression amusing and was almost tempted to snap a picture for Foaly. Mulch recovered quickly though, and grinned as he began picking up the various food items scattered on the floor. “Geez, I was wondering when you would finally go back, it’s been hard keeping the secret for so long.” Holly glared at him “I think there are a few things that should remain secret, don’t you?” Mulch wagged a finger at her. “Oh no, I’ve been waiting for years to tell Foaly you kissed Artemis Fowl. Can you imagine the look on his face when he finds out?” Holly could imagine it, she also realized she was being blackmailed. “What do you want Diggums?” she asked, and the dwarf began listing off his ridiculous demands.

What      they’ve been doing for the past eight years:

The usual Paradizo agenda, which is not actually very usual at all. In the past years, Minerva had captured no.1 for scientific purposes but was then captured herself… I am sure we are all familiar with the events in TLC. More recently, she has been studying the people from a distance, not harming, just observing, and trying to find their origins. She is still attempting to earn the Nobel peace prize, but through less shady methods. She speaks at conventions, is the head of her high school`s debate team and chess club, etc.

This isn`t IC, It is something I wrote for fictionpress a while ago. I thought my character Laverne seemed a lot like Minerva would be. You know, without the mutant friends.

Before our divide there were six of us. Six unlike any other. We took pride in the fact we were different, but it wasn't necessarily a good thing. The government hid us well. We went to school and played sports and had fun just like anyone else, with one restriction: we couldn't do anything that would expose us. I had to stay calm, Lily couldn't stay in the sun too long, Radek couldn't run too fast, Emory couldn't be left alone, Laverne couldn't speak unless it was only us he was talking to, Olin couldn't walk at all, and so on. So when I walked into class, it was like always, Radek walking slowly, Laverne completely silent, and Olin in his wheelchair. To any passerby, we would look like normal schoolchildren. Very crippled schoolchildren. Our first class was dedicated to teaching us how to hide our gifts, so off we went, hand in hand. Together, as we should be. The familiar wooden door loomed ahead. As the hall came to an end, we all snuck a glance at Laverne, who mouthed, "Inge." Me. I approached the door, slowly. I wondered what today`s test would be. The others checked each window to make sure every single one was closed, and every door locked in the silent, vacant hall. I stepped forward.

The door swung open. I slipped behind it. Now, what to do? What to do? Maybe today should be the day. The day I defy them. I had been wanting to do it for a while now, but it was only one of my fantasies, until this moment. To defy them, to show them that I am in fact human, would be so... liberating. I closed my eyes. I could feel myself slipping away. Now I was nothing. Let`s ditch this place. The thought went flying through the air, bouncing off the walls, reaching only my friends. They looked around for me, until it struck them that I had disappeared. Laverne gave a slight nod. Radek ran at speeds only he could, Olin stood from his wheelchair and began to hover a foot over the ground. Lily flew, and giggled like a normal seven-year-old. We were off, just like that.

But it was too good to be true. If it was that easy, we would have been gone a long time ago. But Laverne had a plan. When didn`t he? He wouldn`t breathe until he calculated exactly how much air would be left in the room. Sounds ridiculous, but we wound up thinking that often with a prodigy in the group.

"There is a guard to the left. The size of his shadow indicates that he is abnormally muscular. Radek could take care of him, but the guard could easily call for backup, and Radek would be seen. Therefore, the best option is to have Inge remove air from the area. If he is seen, passerby would assume that he had simply been overheated. Inge can then escort us away without any interference," Laverne informed us. I had knocked the guard out before Laverne finished. We were then dissolving in air, becoming nothing but molecules. It`s a talent of mine.

"This seems too easy." Olin said, or rather he thought. He did not have a mouth at the time. Fortunately, we all could hear him, or again, understand him, because of the lack of ears.

"That is because it is too easy. I`m sorry, I have to make us all whole again. Otherwise, I could lose something important, like your lungs. I don`t know why, but I can`t seem to move us as molecules." I said.

 Laverne responded, "Complications. You were correct, Olin, it would be much too easy if they simply let us disappear. I expected something to come up."

"Then you know what to do?" I asked.

"Yes, I know precisely what to do. We need to leave. They will be looking for us here. If we can make it to the busses, we could hide until dismissal. The driver will be looking for us, but he will not spot us if we are already inside. Then, we could ride away. When we are a fair distance from the school, we can escape. The key is to create such a clamor that the other passengers will delay the driver long enough for us to exit, and hide. Then, w-"

"Let`s just focus on what needs to be done now," interrupted Radek. He took off, running for the nearest bus. We struggled to keep up, and failed, but we made it eventually. Radek wrenched the doors open. Emory and Lily climbed up, though it took Lily a little longer, and she stumbled on the last step.

A door creaked, probably from the school. Another shut, hard. It was the bus door that shut.

Radek mouthed to us, "Sorry."

"You`re just going to-"

"Stop, Olin. He has to protect Lily. She`s young still, and who knows what they are going to do to us? Lily couldn`t take it, neither does she deserve it. And you know Emory. She means well, but she`s got her... defect," I said as the bus pulled away, with Radek at the wheel.

"We can`t split. All we have is each other," said Olin.

"Laverne will find them. Right?"

"I believe so, and I have yet to find a time when I was not correct."

Olin remarked, "Laverne might be a genius and all, but he can`t work miracles. We have lost them. They`re gone now. We will never see them again."

Laverne smirked. "Oh, I wouldn`t be so sure."

What they’ve been doing for the past eight years(1+ para): 

After the Great Techno-Crash, much of modern science was put to a halt, so that the world on large could rebuild. Minerva was not suited for a life without the pursuit of science. As such, within two months of the Great Techo-Crash, or as many had shortened it, the GTC, Minerva had begun rebuilding technologies. With a group of brilliant minds, they reinvented technologies lost. A month before Artemis's return from the grave, they had begun theorizing how to bring back the internet. It would take them four years to succeed, but they did, in fact, revive the world wide web. She remains proudest of her improvements on the toaster oven. She's been secretly improving her father's surgery equipment, when she has the time, and has take over the role of mother figure in her little brother's life. While she stopped calling him Bobo when he turned ten, largely out of respect for his wishes, she "mother hens" him.  

Between this work and familial obligation, she's discovered a love of languages, seeking to learn as many of them as possible, while collecting doctorates like large and expensive baseball cards. As of now, she holds three doctorates, and has almost finished her fourth. Her first degree, under the pseudonym Ida O. March, was in chemistry. The next two were under her own name, in quantum physics and psychology. She is now pursing a doctorate in mathematics and an undergraduate degree in linguistics. 

In a fits of boredom, she has been teaching herself how to play the piano, and recognizes that she is absolutely terrible at it.

Closing the book in her hands, Minerva sighs. As fascinating and soothing as the work of Tolkein is, all her reading did little to calm her. Other girls her age might have turned to music, drinking, or partying to soothe their frayed nerves, but even shopping with her friends, Minerva was no ordinary girl. Complicated, emotional problems always call for simple, logical solutions, in her mind,. 

Standing from her bed and walking over to her chalkboard, Minerva writes the formula first. She memorized it years ago, but the act is almost ritualistic, and she refuses to mess with the "magic" of her remedy. 

Now, she thinks, I merely need variables to plug in. She had completed all of the examples in her personal books years ago, and had taken to looking them up on the internet, before the GTC. After the GTC, she simple became determined to revive the internet. It was vital for too many of her methods a stress relief.  After planning ways to kill her mother one day, she was so bored, Minerva had done her best to find something productive to do everyday. While not ground breaking mathematical theory, the quadratic equation would have to do, for today.

Deep breath. Count backwards from ten. There was a class waiting on her just beyond the door – but that was the problem prompting the panic rising in her system and lodging itself in the back of her throat. Or part of the problem, at any rate, as Liv stood there thinking about the audacity she must have preparing to stand in front of these kids and give a lecture when she ought to be sitting where they were, given her lack of control over the part of her that she had spent years ignoring. Okay, she’d be teaching art history if she managed not to blow anything up on accident, but still. And maybe not all of the kids in the class had powers – that idea prompted a swell in her anxieties and she stopped the train before it derailed her. She could just picture the amount of trouble she’d be in if the flag at the front of the room spontaneously combusted. This wasn’t Men In Black and no team would come along to wipe anyone’s memories if she fucked up.

Was her hand shaking? No. She was iron, she was steel. She’d braved a hell of a lot worse than this in her life and she was not about to wimp out now because of something that might happen. Sure, she might blow something up or light something on fire or make something disappear. But she might not. She might walk through that door and the worst thing that would happen would be that she’d misspelled something on the syllabus. Liv had worked damn hard to get here, and she was still working hard, and she was more or less qualified for this position. Optimistically she thought that maybe her alarm clock had met her blowing things up quota for the day. And that had turned out to be true on more days than one, so today could, logically, be another one of those days.

Upon further assessment the panic seemed to have subsided somewhat, to the point where she was only suffering butterflies vaguely reminiscent of those that had plagued her on the night of her first and only theatrical performance as the lion in a heavily watered down production of the play within a play of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. They might also have been compared to the feeling induced by the look she’d received at the staff meeting from one dark and gorgeous professor, but that was not something she needed to be thinking about before she stood up for an hour in front of a bunch of students. Thinking about those feelings at all, ever, was probably a bad idea but she would cross that bridge when she came to it. Focus. Art History, lecturing, not blowing things up.

She could totally do this, she decided, as she pushed the door open with the palm of her free hand flat to the wood, and the class on the other side of it fell silent at her arrival.

There were a few furtive glances to the clock on the wall that prompted the swivel of her eyes to the fixture. Three minutes late. “I’ll cut you a deal,” she started, leaning against the desk at the front of the room and observing the faces of her students for the semester, “you’re under three minutes late, and we won’t call it tardy. After that, I’m holding you accountable. No excuses about alarm clocks or whatever. Fair?” There were a few nods and murmurs, and Liv took notice of their faces – the quick ones. “I’m Liv Downing and this is Art History,” she pushed off the sturdy desk and set the stack of syllabi she’d been cradling on the desk of the student sitting immediately in front of her. “Any questions?”

Madison always considered herself someone of a chess master. She hated the actual game, finding it trivial and a waste of time, but the concept of planning every move beforehand for the best result in the end was something she could appreciate. She treated life as one large game of chess. The people around her were her pawns and her persuasive voice was the hand that hovered over said pieces, controlling their every move. It didn't matter how many of her pieces ended up on her oppenent's side, as long as she met her "destination", she considered it a success and her losses collateral damage. She had tunnel vision for her goal and that was all that mattered. Sometimes, Madison didn't even have a goal. Her manipulations and moves were just to prove how good of a chess player she could be.

Today was just another game of chess. Her opponent was a boy who had been fawning after her relentlessly, always almost on his knees begging her to go out on a date with him. She knew it wasn't because of her personality, but simply because she was the hottest thing around for miles and it was a status booster to have her on your arm. Like a lion toying with its prey before devouring it, Madison accepted his proposal of a lunch date and began her game. It began with the some simple convincing to get the boy to give Madison his jacket. She walked in front of him slightly so she would be his only thing in vision and began to not so subtly rub her arms, forcing her teeth to clack audibly as if she was suffering from a great chill. Within a moment he rushed forward, draping his warm jacket over her shoulders and she flashed a grateful smile and continued in her strut before him. Her chess pieces moved forward, inching square by square closer to the king.

The game neared it's end when she rustled through her clutch to find some cash to pay for her meal, pretending to not see the multitude of twenties and fifties pressed neatly between the folds of her wallet. She looked up in disappointment, her lips pouting out, and informed her boy toy of her situation. The godly hand that held control over her pieces picked them up, preparing to move. Annoyance flickered in his eyes for a moment before he reached into his pocket to dish out more money for her. Her pieces were in place and she had a pile of her opponent's pawns beside her, and as he handed the cashier money, her pieces surrounded his king.

Checkmate.
