Holly Short has been spending the past eight years as one would expect. As an LEP Captain, Holly continues to annoy her commanding officers with her recklessness, but she’s proven herself to be one of recon’s finest so they continue to put up with her. In her spare time she can be found with her friends, usually handing out sassy retorts left and right as her friends can be rather sassy themselves (*cough* Artemis *cough* Foaly *cough* Mulch *cough cough*). Although her life has been taking a turn for the relatively quiet, Holly hasn’t settled down and continues to keep an eye out for the many dangerous enemies she’s made over the years, including Opal Koboi.

Holly stumbled through the door of her home in Haven city and crashed onto the couch. She had been through another misadventure with the famous Artemis Fowl and was ready for a nice long nap to recover. “Time jumping could really take it out of a person” she thought to herself as she kicked off her shoes and sighed. Although, to be fair, she had done much more than time jump. She had been sedated and kidnapped multiple times, was almost publicly executed in front of a group known as the Extinctionists, and worst of all, she had reverted back to her teenaged self. Holly massaged her temples as she replayed the turn of events for the millionth time.
She froze when she heard a crash from the kitchen, but relaxed when her friend, Mulch Diggums, appeared in the doorway with armfuls of food. Holly held up her recently recovered omnitool and waved it at Mulch. The dwarf had stolen the treasured possession years ago, and Holly had reclaimed it from the past. Mulch was so surprised, he dropped his loot and stood gapping at Holly for a moment. Holly found the startled expression amusing and was almost tempted to snap a picture for Foaly. Mulch recovered quickly though, and grinned as he began picking up the various food items scattered on the floor. “Geez, I was wondering when you would finally go back, it’s been hard keeping the secret for so long.” Holly glared at him “I think there are a few things that should remain secret, don’t you?” Mulch wagged a finger at her. “Oh no, I’ve been waiting for years to tell Foaly you kissed Artemis Fowl. Can you imagine the look on his face when he finds out?” Holly could imagine it, she also realized she was being blackmailed. “What do you want Diggums?” she asked, and the dwarf began listing off his ridiculous demands.

What they've been doing for the past eight years:
Artemis has already relearned everything about his past from Holly, and is working with the Fairy People to improve the environment through even more planet-friendly technology and genetically modify food to be healthier and more resilient to different climates. He and Foaly have a friendly competition in this new world, where crime is still a problem and both are still arrogant idiots and think they are the best.
Artemis is still single and living at the Fowl Estate, which has been turned into acres of farmland to grow food for Ireland. Fowl Industries has developed and produces high-end technology and medicine (all economically and environmentally friendly), from self-driving electric cars to cures for cancers, all invented with the help of our no-longer-juvenile genius.
Relationships:
+Holly Short: After kidnapping the fairy and having many near-death experiences with her, Artemis has to consider her a friend, at least. If it wasn't for Holly, Artemis probably would be dead.
+Domovoi Butler: Artemis has known Butler his entire life. While Artemis rarely shows it, he cares about Butler just as much as he does his father. Artemis appreciates everything the bodyguard has gone through for him.
+Myles and Beckett Fowl: Artemis' younger brothers. While Beckett can definitely get on Artemis' nerves a bit, he takes some satisfaction in knowing that Myles understands more advanced concepts.
-Opal Koboi: Having been nearly killed by her multiple times, and killed for real because of her once, Opal is one of the last people Artemis would ever want to see.
-Turnball Root: Having to defeat a criminal while suffering from Atlantis Complex isn't fun in the first place, having to defeat a criminal who burns runes into your body is even worse. Just like with Opal, Artemis would rather not see him again.

I've been working on character bios at the moment, something us admins decided on. Essentially, it'll be the character's name, age, FC, and whether they're a human or one of the People and then have what they've been doing for the last eight years and some relationships that are major for the character. There will also be character bios for open characters with suggestions of what they could have been doing for the last eight years.
I've also been thinking of doing character templates for OCs, which is when there's just some basic information and then the applicant gets to fill in everything else. Would any of you like that idea?

We're sorry, but we had some problems with your character and as such won't be accepting her at the time. There's an explanation under the cut and if you have any questions about it you can come and talk to us.
First of all, it's obvious from Turnball that human-fairy relationships are fairly taboo. It's not something that happens often. Even Artemis' family, who had been capturing and studying fairies for centuries, didn't have any fairy blood in him. That's why we'd require a pretty good explanation as to why your character would have fairy ancestry and why she is able to do magic when it's so far back. I'm guessing that it's because she's in Ireland? If that is the case, it wouldn't really trigger anything within her DNA because, according to science, dormant DNA would stay dormant and fairies don't live only in Ireland.
I'm also confused as to why, if she is a retail worker at a grocery, why she would be working on the Fowl Estate. The Fowl's don't seem to have many employees in the first place, so it's something that I'd like to be explained more.
If you still want to, you can fix some things or talk to us about it and resubmit the application whenever you want. Or submit one for a different character. We're sorry but we'd just like a bit more explanation on these things.

Character’s Birthday: March 5
Bio/Personality (2 para minimum): Sara’s general appearance is dark brown hair, fair skin and oodles of freckles on her face, shoulders and anywhere else exposed to sun. Tanning is not an easy task for the poor girl. She tends to be light hearted and shy to the point of awkwardness. While Sara has anxiety being around lots of people she does her best to push through her fears and makes friends in her new home. As an American who recently moved to Ireland there’s some culture shock and mild disappointment as she had romanticized the isle in her childhood, her reality is a mediocre retail job and an apartment the size of a shoe box. One perk of her job is that she gets to work on some of the plots located on the Fowl estate, which she has admired greatly! One day Sara hopes to meet the people that live there, surely they’d be interesting!
Despite initial misgivings Sara has gained a small group of companions and tries to maintain her relationships by frequently going out with those people. At times she can come off as clingy in her eagerness to socialize and not go unnoticed. Having ADHD, Sara can act pretty flaky and silly at times without meaning to but she hopes that it won’t be held against her! It also leads to her vivid imagination which may or may not be a dangerous thing. If you want to get Sara’s attention the best way is to talk straight forward and bluntly, she appreciates it.
Ever since Sara moved to Ireland she’s noticed strange things happening. Sometimes if she really focuses on things they seem to shift, like something is moving the object. When she talks to people and really, really wants to convince them of something there’s a funny tugging and pushing feeling in her diaphragm and the person may start to get a glazed look in their eyes. It’s happened enough times that Sara is kind of freaked out. Her dreams of flying have gotten more vivid, she keeps feeling like something’s watching her when no one’s in the room… Why is this happening now? Maybe she’s just subconsciously trying to convince herself to go back to Ohio. Or perhaps it’s something she’d never thought possible.
Job(if any): Retail worker at the local co-op grocery. Her dream(s): Owning a vegan café (just to prove it’d be successful), or doing something actually cool with that Environmental Studies degree she spent four years getting.
Para Sample(2 para minimum, in character): The earth seemed to shudder as Sara dug her toes into the damp, freshly tilled dirt. Maybe it was really Sara that had shuddered, the ground was surprisingly cold. It was the dead of summer and the work day had ended so most of the people tending plots were gone. It wasn’t so weird putting your feet in the ground anyways! Plenty of people did it and there were worse things th-.
Okay, off topic. Sara wasn’t here to argue with herself. She breathed deeply and closed her eyes to will away the many thoughts that buzzed in her head for attention. Her ears slowly tuned out outside noise as she imagined ocean waves gently lapping at her. Better. The sensation of something slimy moving across Sara’s left foot brought her back to the present, probably a worm. Sara resisted the urge to pull away and dug in deeper. Her feet were wet and cold now but it was oddly satisfying. It felt right being here. Exactly here on the Fowl estate with its rich and moist soil, at this moment. As if everything before had been specifically engineered to bring Sara to this spot. It was right and it was good. That was enough. As her toes sank in Sara slowly brought her arms up, up, up until they were directly above her. She clenched her fists and released, fingers splaying out as if to grab a hold of the wisps of cool air. That wasn’t entirely off, in Sara’s mind her fingers were extending further than her body. She pictured her soul stretching, ever stretching as if trying to break free from her mortal frame. It was those dreams she had, the ones where she was finally able to fly after trying so hard. She lifted off the ground and was skimming the clouds, fingers brushing over condensed water particles. Those were the brightest and most serene dreams. They were loud and cluttered like others she had. It was comforting and Sara didn’t understand why.
At this very moment the earth completely stopped for Sara. The air felt heavy and confining and gravity pressed on her body. It wasn’t fair, it was like something precious had been taken from her yet she had never had the chance to know what she lost. Minutes passed and her arms began feeling heavy, so Sara slowly lowered them back down to her sides and took another breath. At least she felt calmer. When her eyes opened the young women felt a prickle on the side of her neck and she turned in the direction. Funny, it constantly felt like someone was there. It was just in the corner of her eye, a brief flash or shifting like this person existed on another plane. If that wasn’t the most annoying shit ever. Sara squeezed her hands and sighed. No she wasn’t letting it bother her right now. She’d managed to get into a good vibe and no invisible people were messing that up.
It was time to go back anyways; she probably could ride her bike in the dark. The dinky head light on the handle would be enough light and there rarely were any obstructions on the roads. She could ride it into Dublin at least. Then the bus back to her apartment. Maybe she should actually get a car. Oh well. Her head was getting fuzzy with clutter and it’d be easier to zone out once she was vegging on her couch and watching anime. As even more thoughts swirled around Sara finally pulled her feet from the dirt and slipped her sandals back on before making her way off the estate. It wasn’t like she couldn’t do this again. There was plenty of time to get in touch with nature.
We're sorry but I thought that another applicant had a better grasp of Minerva. That being said, I loved you application/writing and would love to have you in our group as another character if there's anyone else you would like to roleplay as, or even as an original character.

The usual Paradizo agenda, which is not actually very usual at all. In the past years, Minerva had captured no.1 for scientific purposes but was then captured herself… I am sure we are all familiar with the events in TLC. More recently, she has been studying the people from a distance, not harming, just observing, and trying to find their origins. She is still attempting to earn the Nobel peace prize, but through less shady methods. She speaks at conventions, is the head of her high school`s debate team and chess club, etc.

This isn`t IC, It is something I wrote for fictionpress a while ago. I thought my character Laverne seemed a lot like Minerva would be. You know, without the mutant friends.
Before our divide there were six of us. Six unlike any other. We took pride in the fact we were different, but it wasn't necessarily a good thing. The government hid us well. We went to school and played sports and had fun just like anyone else, with one restriction: we couldn't do anything that would expose us. I had to stay calm, Lily couldn't stay in the sun too long, Radek couldn't run too fast, Emory couldn't be left alone, Laverne couldn't speak unless it was only us he was talking to, Olin couldn't walk at all, and so on. So when I walked into class, it was like always, Radek walking slowly, Laverne completely silent, and Olin in his wheelchair. To any passerby, we would look like normal schoolchildren. Very crippled schoolchildren. Our first class was dedicated to teaching us how to hide our gifts, so off we went, hand in hand. Together, as we should be. The familiar wooden door loomed ahead. As the hall came to an end, we all snuck a glance at Laverne, who mouthed, "Inge." Me. I approached the door, slowly. I wondered what today`s test would be. The others checked each window to make sure every single one was closed, and every door locked in the silent, vacant hall. I stepped forward.
The door swung open. I slipped behind it. Now, what to do? What to do? Maybe today should be the day. The day I defy them. I had been wanting to do it for a while now, but it was only one of my fantasies, until this moment. To defy them, to show them that I am in fact human, would be so... liberating. I closed my eyes. I could feel myself slipping away. Now I was nothing. Let`s ditch this place. The thought went flying through the air, bouncing off the walls, reaching only my friends. They looked around for me, until it struck them that I had disappeared. Laverne gave a slight nod. Radek ran at speeds only he could, Olin stood from his wheelchair and began to hover a foot over the ground. Lily flew, and giggled like a normal seven-year-old. We were off, just like that.
But it was too good to be true. If it was that easy, we would have been gone a long time ago. But Laverne had a plan. When didn`t he? He wouldn`t breathe until he calculated exactly how much air would be left in the room. Sounds ridiculous, but we wound up thinking that often with a prodigy in the group.
"There is a guard to the left. The size of his shadow indicates that he is abnormally muscular. Radek could take care of him, but the guard could easily call for backup, and Radek would be seen. Therefore, the best option is to have Inge remove air from the area. If he is seen, passerby would assume that he had simply been overheated. Inge can then escort us away without any interference," Laverne informed us. I had knocked the guard out before Laverne finished. We were then dissolving in air, becoming nothing but molecules. It`s a talent of mine.
"This seems too easy." Olin said, or rather he thought. He did not have a mouth at the time. Fortunately, we all could hear him, or again, understand him, because of the lack of ears.
"That is because it is too easy. I`m sorry, I have to make us all whole again. Otherwise, I could lose something important, like your lungs. I don`t know why, but I can`t seem to move us as molecules." I said.
Laverne responded, "Complications. You were correct, Olin, it would be much too easy if they simply let us disappear. I expected something to come up."
"Then you know what to do?" I asked.
"Yes, I know precisely what to do. We need to leave. They will be looking for us here. If we can make it to the busses, we could hide until dismissal. The driver will be looking for us, but he will not spot us if we are already inside. Then, we could ride away. When we are a fair distance from the school, we can escape. The key is to create such a clamor that the other passengers will delay the driver long enough for us to exit, and hide. Then, w-"
"Let`s just focus on what needs to be done now," interrupted Radek. He took off, running for the nearest bus. We struggled to keep up, and failed, but we made it eventually. Radek wrenched the doors open. Emory and Lily climbed up, though it took Lily a little longer, and she stumbled on the last step.
A door creaked, probably from the school. Another shut, hard. It was the bus door that shut.
Radek mouthed to us, "Sorry."
"You`re just going to-"
"Stop, Olin. He has to protect Lily. She`s young still, and who knows what they are going to do to us? Lily couldn`t take it, neither does she deserve it. And you know Emory. She means well, but she`s got her... defect," I said as the bus pulled away, with Radek at the wheel.
"We can`t split. All we have is each other," said Olin.
"Laverne will find them. Right?"
"I believe so, and I have yet to find a time when I was not correct."
Olin remarked, "Laverne might be a genius and all, but he can`t work miracles. We have lost them. They`re gone now. We will never see them again."

What they’ve been doing for the past eight years(1+ para):
After the Great Techno-Crash, much of modern science was put to a halt, so that the world on large could rebuild. Minerva was not suited for a life without the pursuit of science. As such, within two months of the Great Techo-Crash, or as many had shortened it, the GTC, Minerva had begun rebuilding technologies. With a group of brilliant minds, they reinvented technologies lost. A month before Artemis's return from the grave, they had begun theorizing how to bring back the internet. It would take them four years to succeed, but they did, in fact, revive the world wide web. She remains proudest of her improvements on the toaster oven. She's been secretly improving her father's surgery equipment, when she has the time, and has take over the role of mother figure in her little brother's life. While she stopped calling him Bobo when he turned ten, largely out of respect for his wishes, she "mother hens" him.
Between this work and familial obligation, she's discovered a love of languages, seeking to learn as many of them as possible, while collecting doctorates like large and expensive baseball cards. As of now, she holds three doctorates, and has almost finished her fourth. Her first degree, under the pseudonym Ida O. March, was in chemistry. The next two were under her own name, in quantum physics and psychology. She is now pursing a doctorate in mathematics and an undergraduate degree in linguistics.
In a fits of boredom, she has been teaching herself how to play the piano, and recognizes that she is absolutely terrible at it.

Closing the book in her hands, Minerva sighs. As fascinating and soothing as the work of Tolkein is, all her reading did little to calm her. Other girls her age might have turned to music, drinking, or partying to soothe their frayed nerves, but even shopping with her friends, Minerva was no ordinary girl. Complicated, emotional problems always call for simple, logical solutions, in her mind,.
Standing from her bed and walking over to her chalkboard, Minerva writes the formula first. She memorized it years ago, but the act is almost ritualistic, and she refuses to mess with the "magic" of her remedy.
Now, she thinks, I merely need variables to plug in. She had completed all of the examples in her personal books years ago, and had taken to looking them up on the internet, before the GTC. After the GTC, she simple became determined to revive the internet. It was vital for too many of her methods a stress relief. After planning ways to kill her mother one day, she was so bored, Minerva had done her best to find something productive to do everyday. While not ground breaking mathematical theory, the quadratic equation would have to do, for today.

Bio/Personality (2 para minimum): BJ grew up with her single mother in a small apartment building in New York City. Her mother was a bad person, in a way. She did a lot of drugs and gambled on the streets. She had no feels at all towards BJ, and yelled at her all the time, for things the small child had nothing to do with.
One evening, while BJ had been taking her nap like most four year old's do, her mother took her out of her bed, and set her near the dumpsters behind their apartment building. When the small girl woke up, she was scared. She had no clue where she was or what to do. This is where BJ started realizing no one cared. No one cared if she was alone. People walked by her and no one noticed.
Things kept going down hill for her. A few of the local kids, who were orphaned and lived in the orphanage, took her in. She belonged with them, for now. She grew up learning how to steal, and how to trick people into doing what she wanted. Life was going well for the girl. By her fifteenth birthday, she got herself enough money to get a ticket to sail over to Ireland. Any place was better than in New York still...
BJ is very snarky. She will throw back sarcastic responses left and right. She is more street smart than she is academically. Living on the streets and stealing money for food left very little time for school in her mind. She is cocky when it comes to thieving. She is good and she knows it too. She takes very little seriously, but in a moment of need, she'll pull through.

The young American teenager jumped off the cruise boat, happily. She couldn't believe her eyes. Ireland. She finally got away from New York and all of the bad memories it carried. She was finally free to start over in Ireland. She couldn't help but actually crack a grin as she took a deep breath of the fresh air. Air you wouldn't find back home. The teen flung her backpack over her shoulder and took off. Where to even begin.
Her eyes were shielded by the sun, hidden away behind the Aviator sunglasses she bough on the boat. They were the cheap knockoffs, which would probably break the second her delicate fingers touched them. Her dark chocolate hair blocked most of her face, which came in hand around security camera's. She just hoped no one from the cruise ship noticed she was missing. As she got towards Dublin itself, she patted her pocket gently. That was all American money... That wouldn't work over here. She smirked wickedly and cracked her fingers. Time to get to work.
