Nuestra Senora de Luz Cemetery (next to the church of the same name - Our Lady of Light Catholic Church; Canoncito Church) is a cemetery beside an historic church building 13 miles southeast of Santa Fe, north of Interstate 25 frontage road in Canoncito, New Mexico. -Edited from Wikipedia. I used to drive by this frequently and always thought the cemetery, or churchyard as they used to say, offered an excellent opportunity for a great photo. So I turned off at the exit and pulled up on the side of the road. As soon as I saw the headstones under the shade of the tree I knew that was the photo I wanted. There are lots of old, historic places in New Mexico. This is a state with a rich cultural heritage and there are photos just waiting to be taken here in The #LandOfEnchantment #NewMexico #Canoncito #CanoncitoNewMexico #Cemetery #Churchyard #NuestraSenoradeLuz #OurLadyOfLight #PersonalPhoto #ByMe #ByJeriRae https://www.instagram.com/p/CJq_3hsFqJk/?igshid=14dpoyvtx036y

"The way is shut. It was made by those who are Dead. And the Dead keep it. The way is shut.”
Snagged from Tolkein, of course, but apropos, don't you think?
