I really do think something is to be said about how much Limbus Company has improved in terms of both music, and how they present it.
Like, they already found a good bit of footing as "peak" with the Kromer fight, mostly with how Mili's music works. Mili's the gold standard, and I will not mention them anymore because we already know how powerful their tracks are in terms of emotional impact.
But man...
Like, it really found it's footing in Canto IV, where the music tracks there fucking slap. Really fucking satisfying electronic music (shame they made enemy encounters such a continuous slog in that Canto though), but man, Canto IV at the end... Dongbaek's theme, the MD themes, and Dongrang's theme... god those all hit so fucking hard, beautifully composed.
Canto V has many, many tracks with very interesting composition! But where it really shines is with the story tracks I'd say! Really hammers home that emotion, that feeling of The Great Lake, of The Sea!
But Canto VI...
It's really peaked here I'd say. Like holy shit. I can say more but I mean like. Studio EIM fucking KILLED it across the board.
Like, my main issue with most of Limbus's early music is that it feels more like the generic music you'd hear in an Ad, the kind of flat rhythm that leaves you just super fucking irritated. Not all tracks were like this ofc, so don't bother presenting examples of good tracks and be like "these are good!", because I do recognize those... it's just that most of the music feels... emotionally flat...
But they have improved and iterated, and holy shit. They've made some really fucking good tracks, I must admit. Like the kind of shit I would listen to while not playing. That's how you know it's good.
