you must perform the entirety of this ritual standing on one leg. draw a circle of chalk outside on the concrete using chalk from a children's set. the circle should be about the diameter of a regular comfortable step forward. do not break the circle or exit until the ritual is complete. take one leaf of a four leaf clover, two teaspoons of salt water, and a lock of hair cut from the head of someone who has not slept in twenty hours. place these items inside of a sock you have worn for 7 days and nights without washing. add a single drop of your own blood taken from the ball of your foot. repeat the phrase "the wind is alive and it calls for me" while you put the sock on your raised foot. you may now leave the chalk circle. do not remove the sock for the next three days. if the ritual was a success, your stride will be 5% longer, and you will always arrive at your destination notably quicker. if for whatever reason you exited or broke the chalk circle, or the sock was removed prematurely, you will lose each of your toes on the opposite foot slowly and painfully over the course of a year.
