So I’m becoming more and more cowbo... and I kinda like it...
Cap & ball revolvers aren’t just firearms. They’re mechanical history.
Understanding how they were built, loaded, and used changes how you shoot — and how you respect them. This isn’t about speed. It’s about precision, patience, and legacy.

Something kinda interesting I came across. In the U.K. They take modern revolvers and use them as muzzleloaders. #muzzleloading #revolver #shooting #blackpowder #pewpewprofessional #capandball #armscor #pewpewlife (at Sussex County, New Jersey)
Lorenz vs. Dreyse
CapandBall returns with a fascinating look at the tactics used at the Battle of Koniggratz where the muzzleloading Lorenz faced the breechloading Dreyse Needle Gun. The video takes a look at the tactics used during the Austro-Prussian War before moving on to examine the rifles used by both sides, first demonstrating the construction of each weapon’s cartridge and deconstructing some of the errors about the Dreyse found on wikipedia. Both rifles are then fired for accuracy and are demonstrated showing the superiority of the breechloading Dreyse.
