“Think you near murdered someone up on that stage with those hips.” His casual comment is spoken with ease, despite the speakers pulsing a bellow of a beat through the crowded room.

The mass of musicians congregate after the award ceremony’s offerings, downing every glass of champagne and sniffing whatever appetisers float past them, bodies close-knit in their unified method of artistic expression. Alex can’t boast the same knack for notes as them, his place here borne of mingled connections through mangled friends, but it’s a hub of ‘happening’ and nothing less. Life is never more lucid than in those who speak and sing and love freely.
