Troy had been buzzing around the kitchen shared by Dan and Faye for the better part of an hour working to prepare the dinner he had planned for his first date with Dan–an idea he was still partially wrapping his head around, but excited him nonetheless. The spaghetti bolognese was coming out better than expected, the salad was all ready to go–the dessert had been a bit of a struggle but Faye was at least around for that part to help him figure just what the heck he was doing. With any luck, by the time dessert rolled around Dan would either be too full to eat it or wouldn’t care what it looked like (Troy did taste test for solely scientific purposes and it was pretty good). He had made the decision to stay in for the date rather than go out after an exhausting and extensive search for perfect first date locations around Buena Vista. Sure, there were some nice suggestions–but it never felt like it was them. And what Troy wanted wasn’t some fancy night out–but some quality, one on one time with Dan. He wanted good food and meaningful conversation and as few people around as possible so he could focus on his date.; it seemed like the perfect solution.

He had spent time in between prepping food to mess around with the lights to give the whole dorm more of a romantic, intimate vibe. He had even gone out and bought candles and a nice table cloth for the dinner table so it would feel like they were out somewhere nice instead of the same old, same old hang out at Cap’s. He hoped Dan would like it–that this would all be something he considered a worthy first date. It was so odd to not know what Dan’s preferences on a matter. But as much as they talked, the conversation of ideal dates or romantic gestures never came up between the two so Troy was merely guessing. He had just finished setting the table and was putting the finishing touches on the main course when Troy heard the front door ‘click.’ He put down everything in his hands and moved towards the entryway–hoping he looked not nervous, but in fact very chill and possibly a bit alluring. capdan-rogers
