Race Point Beach: Golden Hour
Heritage Museums & Gardens: Boardwalk Path
Is there anything better than drooping trees in the rain? Pines, cedars, willows? I submit to you that there is not.

going to a museum with @gayvictorians be like:
museum guide: this is a toy exhibit with toys from the 1800s up to today and you will probably see many toys you recognize from when you were a kid! us: okay cool thanks Ken, immediately: thEY HAVE SCRIMSHAW!?!?! *entranced for a hot ten minutes* me: well she shoulda led with that
when I was a younger adult/teenager I always found it a little confusing/off-putting how adults would be like oh my god you’re not allowed to be this old because to me time had been linear this whole time and yes I had aged? that’s what we all do?
but I saw my cousins for the first time since 2009 and, you see, I was fully an adult and they were 10 and 8 and the one who was 10 is now 22. I was his age when he was 10. I was an adult and he was ten.
you see, if you’re a young adult or teenager, it’s weird for us because this whole time we’ve just been adults doing adult things and you’ve been growing up and changing and we weren’t there and we turned around and now you’re us now.
the last time we saw you, you were running around making up stories about evil Santa Claus. and now you’re explaining why companies don’t run high-speed fiber in rural areas. and we weren’t there for the transition. and we’re like holy fuck you’re me. what happened to me??? did I change this much too?? is time real???
and it fucks with our heads. it’s not really you. it’s great that you’re an adult now. we love that for you and we’re so so proud. but we have an existential crisis and you get caught in it. sorry about that.
Heritage Museums & Gardens: Orange Shelf Mushroom
If anyone knows what this is please let me know, it is large and glorious and I love it. My best guess is Hemlock Varnish Shelf Mushroom, but it wasn’t growing on a tree? It was a cultivated garden with mulch, though, so perhaps that was enough.
