He was born an only child and he would always give his parents crap about this growing up. He did grow up with some loving pups along the way, to help fill the sibling void, but he always wished he had a sibling.
He grew up listening to a little bit of everything, including a bit of country, but fell in love with good ol’ rock and roll. His parents always blamed his music taste and friends on the rebellious spirit he grew the older he got; but truthfully, he’d always been someone who hated the norm.
During the summer of going into his senior year of high school, his parents got a divorce. The divorce was nasty, and frankly, it came out of nowhere to him, but in the end he ended up moving to Cape May with his mother. His father never did keep in touch afterwards, not even to update Kylan on his changed number, but after a while, Ky eventually stopped caring.
Starting the school year in a new school as a senior was difficult for him. He felt homesick often, especially when he’d see groups of friends laughing together, often longing to hang out with his friends too. Everyone had either known each other from the past couple of years attending classes together or they were childhood friends. Despite the challenges he faced he eventually did find his place, and friends, in Cape May.
Now a days you can often catch him drumming on something, walking around town, listening to music, and drowning out the world around him. His mother’s health isn’t doing too good and he’s often tried to not let it get to him..but it’s something that weighs heavy on him. B A C K G R O U N D
Blake was born and raised in Newark, NJ. His parents were Timothy and Lisa Carter. They owned a small bagel shop called, “I Bagel To Differ” that was known among locals as the place you had to stop by. He grew up an only child and always wanted to be a big brother but had tons of cousins he played that role with.
Around the age of 10, Blake started noticing his parents were growing more distant. His father was always gone and his mother was drinking herself away on the couch. The spark that was once there between the two parents faded. Eventually, Timothy never came home and he never contacted Lisa or even Blake, ever again.
Blake and his mom couldn’t afford their own housing so they moved in with his Aunt and many cousins. He finally achieved the “Big Brother” role, taking up responsibilities to help around the house; making breakfast and dinner, taking the kids to school, helping them with after school activities and homework. It didn’t take long for Blake to adjust to the new setting, he actually liked the change. He didn’t feel as lonely anymore, picked up new hobbies and a love for piano and theater.
Blake found that being in theater helped block out any negative thoughts or feelings about his life. He had a distraction and something to keep him occupied. James, Jimmy, Blaze, JB…what is there to say? Other than he’s a complete goofball and loves to party with his friends and have a good time. He’s a golden retriever in a man’s body. He was born in Portland, Oregon on February 9, 1993, to Roger and Miriam Blaese. He is the 2nd of 3 children, and the only boy. Though he was born in Portland, he moved around a lot as a kid, since his father was in the army and his mother is a flight attendant. Both his parents had jobs where they worked long hours and didn’t stay in one place for long. His father is a typical military man, one who is overbearing and wanted his son to join the army at 18. Despite the tragedy that struck the family and the transition from her own home to that of her grandparents’ , Aera smiled despite the heartbreak . Many sympathised her because of that , some thought of her as heartless , others thought she was carrying too much trauma for a child her age .
